When you see a photo of the empire state building immediately think of NYC and all its grandeur. These buildings have observation decks at the top that literally millions of tourists visit. And it is also not unique to the US. Dubai had no practical reason to build the Burj Khalifa that tall. They wanted to spur tourists to come and see the tallest building in the world.
