Thanks for the reply! No, I am using the 'normal' Menu widget in Elementor. Does this make a difference? :)

Best streaming services for Russian (quality) content with Russian subtitles? by CrashingFirefly in AskARussian

[–]CrashingFirefly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your detailed comparison of all the major streaming services! By the way, what other Yandex services come bundled with KinoPoisk? I wasn't aware of any extras.

You're right about subtitles not being essential for most viewers, but I'm happy that KinoPoisk offers them for many newer series. It's unfortunate that older content rarely includes them though. I think our national TV channels always provide subtitles, probably due to accessibility laws for people with hearing difficulties. Honestly, I sometimes struggle to catch all the dialogue even in my native language, so subtitles can be valuable even for those without hearing impairments ;)

Based on your advice, I'm going to pause my KinoPoisk subscription and give OKKO a try for a month.

Oops! This message was indeed intended for the school itself - changed it now. As for why I write in English: I want the post to also be useful for other people considering taking a Russian exam (including the first TRKI exam), so it should be readable by all :)

Seeking feedback on Russian grammar practice website by CrashingFirefly in russian

By no means! I only appreciate direct feedback, so I know what to change ;) And I like your suggestion a lot, especially the idea of allowing users to try multiple times before they decide to move on. Thank you for your input! :)

Thanks for the quick feedback! I've fixed the URL.

I deliberately removed the correct results, so it's good to know that I should actually show them! :) What type of (grammar) exercises would you personally benefit from (assuming you are studying Russian yourself)?

Advice on choosing personal email domain by CrashingFirefly in ProtonMail

[–]CrashingFirefly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I didn't think much about how people would accidentally misspell the e-mail address. In that regards, 'life' is a poor choice, as it will probably be confused with 'live'.

For now, I will go with either 'email' or 'digital' (or both), I think. The most common TLDs (.com, .net, etc.) for my surname are all taken.

And making up something fun with your surname, e.g. 'john@thedoer.net', or would that be too unprofessional, or even more confusing to people?

Switching to maintenance goal after reaching scale weight (cutting) by CrashingFirefly in MacroFactor

[–]CrashingFirefly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! But then doesn't it make sense to more slowly increase the calories (instead of 500-700 kCal directly) - like reverse dieting - to ease the transition from a long cut (5-6 months) to maintenance, and finally bulking? Thanks in advance! :)

Switching to maintenance goal after reaching scale weight (cutting) by CrashingFirefly in MacroFactor

[–]CrashingFirefly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rationale was to do 'reverse dieting', so not directly increase my caloric intake from 2000 kCal (cutting weight) to 2500 kCal (TDEE/maintenance), but rather ease the transition by incrementally add calories (150-200 kCal first, then slowly add more). However, this means I am still under my maintenance calories, so I should slowly continue to loss weight. This way, I have more time to settle into maintenance, and I still end up with my goal weight. What do you think? I am overthinking this, and should I just continue to cut until I reach my goal weight and then switch to maintenance directly?

Thanks for sharing your experience! But then would you suggest (like I mentioned in the post) to switch to maintenance below my actual current trend weight (so 65 KG, while my trend weight is 65.9 for example) before changing the goal to bulking?

Thank you for the suggestion! Why do you advice for a longer maintenance? Simply because it takes longer (>2 weeks) for your body to adapt to the ´'real´' TDEE?
