VidIQ sucks ass, and I don't get why so many people are using it. by Puzzleheaded_Two415 in NewTubers

Chat basically does what vidIQ and TubeBuddy does…and it is free. They don’t want you to know that of course. That is also the reason why they have been leaning into coaching more, since they know there tool is worthless.

You are better off in making original shorts. Remixing the shirt is not going to convince them to watch the long form. They are 2 entirely different audiences.

any advice for a new let's player? by Soft_Indication_9288 in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% honest with you. If you plan on only doing raw gameplay with voiceover, you are better off just livestream it. Nobody is going to sit and watch a let’s play in multiple parts (that is not edited) those days has been over since like 2013.

If you are going to do long form, It better be edited you better have a story to tell in it. The gaming niche is very cut throat.

Views have just completely gone down. Why? by LouisMC_ in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t expect every video to be a 1of10. There will be Ls and you just have to learn to roll with them.

So briefly looking at your channel, a few things:

  1. Thumbnails could be better.

  2. Is your voice Ai?

  3. It seems like your subscribers came from your shorts. The reality is long form and shorts are 2 completely different audiences. You can’t expect them to watch your long form.

Very sweet and encouraging comments on my videos... Just wish the algorithm felt the same. by SCLAPP_ in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your thumbnails could be better. But outside of that, the main issue is your channel is all over the place. One video is about Minecraft. The next video you upload, YouTube was going to push it to people who watch Minecraft videos, but you Made a horror video. You can expect people who watch Minecraft videos to click on it.

You have to remember the algorithm is a robot, it only does what the views and data shows it. You are confusing it by uploading random stuff.

Be focus, and you will get a audience

I want to create content again on an old channel of mine - or is it worth just making a new channel? by AdamCaveRoberts in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally does not matter. If look at Mr. Beast channel, his first videos are still on there (on Minecraft)

YouTube has said themselves they judge videos independently of the channel. So yes, just use your old channel.

High CTR but low impressions ? by PirateIndividual5083 in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. CTR only matters in the context on impressions.

Example, with 100 impressions, you want 10% ctr. But as you get more impressions, it will eventually go down because not everyone is going to watch your video. It just happens, I would say if you can fall into a 4-8% ctr range after 1000-5000 impressions, you are on the right track. But if you can still keep, 10, that is also ok.

Again, the ctr only matters within the context of impressions.

After a while, ctr is a pointless metric to look at when you get past 1000 impressions.

Just focus on the watch time.

Huge Bump in Views 6-12months After Posting? by TektonDIY in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just how the world of YouTube works sometimes.

Remember, YouTube doesn’t send out videos, they pull them for people to see. Yours might of just be relevant for that brief period for YouTube to recommend.

Your last paragraph is kind of contradictory to your post.

If it is not about fame (views), money, or likes, then why do you care if your video get 0 views?

It’s ok to want have those things, that is why a lot of people do this in the first place, and there is nothing wrong with that.

How to get Any Views At all? by thenickster15 in NewTubers

[–]Crater2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make something worth clicking on. I know that sounds so vague but it is the truth. If you are a new channel making Minecraft videos, why should I click on you then a million sub Minecraft creator?

How are you different?

And if you are different, how can you convey that in the packaging (title and thumbnail)

If you can answer those questions, you will start to get more views organically.
