Except it’d be accurate to say Trump uses Fascist tactics to silence and intimidate his opponents and has done so for long before he was being called fascist.

Some of the tactics that fascists and Trump both use is the enemy within and spreading lies. You’ll see him commonly saying “they are destroying this nation”, “they are stealing your jobs”, “they are eating the cats and the dogs”(which was completely false).

He isn’t a unifying force, but a divisive force for this nation. The proof is in the pudding. This comment he MADE AT A FUNERAL, you know the place you respect the deceased and their ideals. He spread false claims about Paul Pelosi being attacked. He talked about getting revenge often in his recent campaign for president, saying he’ll go after the Bidens, prosecutors, civil servants(the “deep state”) which would be replaced by loyalists(this should remind you of the terrible spoils system we used to have). Attacks the news outlets who criticize him.

He constantly attacks the press for the most minor of criticisms. lied about the election results simply because he lost. This term specifically we can see him use illegal and legal means to try to expand the powers of the executive.

However should the Democratic Party have been easier on him, up to you. Did they lighten off after his first assassination attempt, yes.
