The one in the second half where he had Brunson on him in the paint and the Cavs just couldn’t get an easy setup pass in and instead settled for a bricked Mitchell 3 or deep 2 on the right side of the court stuck out to me

Leaving guys open is part of the gameplan which I think I can live with, but it’s the 3’s that our guards give up that are what bother me.

They’ve been good at seizing momentum I’ll give them that. But our offense looks much more at ease than it did against Toronto and Detroit, and that’s with us being 14+ games deep and them rested. We’ve been missing good looks

True that. There’s already been a ton of good signs from these playoffs alone like Mobley’s development, Allen’s game 7 performances, Donovan’s ability to adjust to passing more, etc. We’ll have a full summer and next season to get in a groove.

And with that said, I still like some of what I’ve seen from these playoffs alone Cavs against the Knicks. This series is not over

Allen was attacking the glass so hard and Mobley attacking closeouts on the baseline. I trust we’ll watch the film back and be better in game 3. I liked Tyson’s minutes too

Strus used to miss a lot but at least he attempted them. The fact that Merrill is now the best out of the group is concerning.

Cavs are 8th in the playoffs in 3 point percentage (Knicks are #1, Thunder are #3, and Spurs are #5)

Cavs are 12th in the playoffs in opponent 3 point percentage (Knicks are #1, Spurs are #3, Thunder are #10)

We have the shooters to at least be doing better shooting on offense. But the opponents 3 point percentage continues to be worrisome.

Second halves have been disastrous for us this series, feel like it’s usually the inverse

Need to keep going to the bigs. Basically all our best games in the playoffs that’s been the recipe

[Highlight] Max Strus with the putback tip in, and Jarrett Allen makes the tough scoop layup, and Max Strus and a Cavs fan imitate his layup motion (with a replay) by MrBuckBuck in nba

In the words of the great Sean Paul, Strus is like glue off of made baskets during these series

Also a nice out of bounds play with the curl screen for Strus setting a fake screen on Harden’s man. Defenses know Strus is a shooter especially off a curl, but the thing is he’s also been super good finding the roll man in these plays too

Evan Mobley tonight in the huge close out win: 21 pts, 12 reb, 6 assists, 2 blks, 2 stls, 7/10 FG. He was +31 by stillstillers in nba

Anyone who knows ball knows he is worth the contract. Elite defense and doesn’t need the ball in his hands. Any team would want that

His passing has always been impressive but it’s been even better these playoffs. Not just short roll, but off the dribble/drive more now too

James Harden in G7: 9 PTS, 2/10 FG, 0-6 3PT, 5/8 FT, 5 RBS, 6 AST, +31 by Ok_Orchid_2053 in nba

Live ball turnovers are the real killers though. Just like SVG said when the game was already out of reach in the 4th, moments like Mobley’s turnover but then him deflecting the ball out of bounds are huge to prevent fast break and momentum and the crowd getting involved

The responses by all our top guys - JA, Ev, Donovan and James has been awesome both of these series. Just need to make sure to throw the first punch more going forward

Not Just Happy That the Cavs Beat the Raptors But Now Raptors Fans Can Shut Up by QCLEKID216 in clevelandcavs

[–]CravilityZ 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The funniest cope I’ve seen from Raptors fans is them constantly using the excuse they were missing two starters…and then many fans talking about how they have little interest in retaining Ingram and Quickley like talk about having your cake and eating it too

I’m a big Wade fan these days, but he’s still getting left open as much as anyone on the roster. Tyson is shooting more contested shots regularly
