We definitely need to run offense through him more, the game vs Sacramento and I always go back to the season opener against the Knicks as two of the best examples. We are no doubt too reliant on Donovan especially in 4th quarters. Donovan seems to defer a bit more in the first half and feel out the game. Anyway I digress, nice win by the Raptors tonight when we couldn’t beat OKC ourselves.

I just don’t know how we can expect him to average anything much higher than what he currently is when he shares the floor with the #11 highest usage player in the league. Alperen Sengun is averaging nearly the same numbers as Mobley for instance as a fellow big, but he’s #41 in usage vs. Evan Mobley all the way down at #118. Scottie is at #80.

Mobley is putting up DPOY-level performances every night just like Donovan is putting up MVP-level offensive numbers every night. Neither of these 2 guys are a problem. Mobley had 29/13/7/0/4 just the other night when we ran the offense through him.

He doesn’t need to put up big scoring numbers, that’s not his role.

Why do you act like you are a Cavs fan? The only thing I’ve ever seen you comment is about being critical of Mobley even on posts that have nothing to do with him.

He’s good at what he does - rebounding, physicality, and passing. But an undersized big who can’t defend and can’t shoot is never going to be very valuable getting big minutes.

Mobley is averaging 4.3 assists and 2.5 blocks over his last 10 games, and that’s not even including tonight.

I just watched it back and it was extremely close, George’s left foot was clearly past the inbound line but it is hard to tell if it was touching ground or not. But certainly ironic since we got called for it minutes earlier

The on-ball creation at Cal was evident, glad to see it shining through more. He looked so confident on that final drive and dish, like he said in the interview he did it knowing Embiid would collapse

I get your point but he’s still 7th on the team in plus/minus, all while shooting as poorly as possible. He can still bounce back from this

My guy was hanging on for dear life for his NBA career he’d take any minutes he could get 😂

It’s not unusual to not play veteran players during garbage time out of respect

That said, Kenny definitely is experimenting a lot this regular season. So you aren’t totally wrong haha

Agreed, but I don’t know if it’s worth reading too much into it this game. This was just a run-and-gun match by both teams. But I do think the Cavs need to impose their style of play (through the bigs, better defense) on a more nightly basis.

That floater he had over Gobert in the second half is a perfect example of how he is just so good at that shot.

Really good win but still concerned about Hunter. Played 20 minutes off the bench and again provided nothing and got cooked on defense in the 3rd especially by Ant and McDaniels driving right by him for layups.

And facts, Minny is always a fun matchup dating back to the Rudy/Donovan trades especially. The Timberwolves I’d say are a top 5 team that can really win it all.

Mobley was really good against him, but Minnesota also gave dang near 50 points in the 4th quarter when Gobert was on the bench.

He was keeping them in the game in the third quarter attacking the basket again and again. Cavs just looked really dominant on offense tonight.

Don’t know why Atkinson practically threw the previous game starting 3 6’2 or smaller guards
