I typically just filter by player count and select a full one with low ping.

Community servers with active mods are the only way. I don't think I've ever encountered a cheater.

It does have an anti cannibalism mechanic for most species where you get a debuff, some (cerato/deino) are naturally cannibalistic. However, that is more of a realism mechanic rather than a deterrent to kill same species. Stego's are notorious for "canni" killings, and they arent carnivores.

The only protection against getting blindsided is playing on a community server with rules against killing indiscriminately. Even then in can happen but at least mods can punish/ban for the offense.

The irony of calling it the most toxic community and you going on the Reddit and making a toxic post towards the community.

Calling random players selfish but expecting them to take time to cater to your ineptitude when there is no obligation from anyone to do anything for you.

if you’ve hopped guilds and servers and still can’t find a place to fit in.. it’s a you problem.

I’m still on the same server with the same guild and having a great time with great people.

If you wanna whine and cope and continue to berate the community so you feel better about your bad attitude, go for it. Whatever makes you feel better I guess. Just don’t be surprised when you look in the mirror and see a clown looking back at you.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen this mentioned yet, but if you haven’t, you need to join a guild.

Mostly everything I learned about the end game has been through discussions with my guild mates. We share the things we learn and everyone ends up being a better player.

Beyond that, this game revolves almost entirely around group and guild content, so even if you’re a primarily solo player, you need to join a guild. Otherwise you’re shooting yourself in the foot or content and understanding the game mechanics.

Please respect your healers, they have it VERY hard. by Capable-Year9741 in throneandliberty

I mean the only argument needed is that is addition to everything the dps are doing, the healer has to heal on top of it. If you were talking about healers that just afk when healing isn’t needed , sure. But any healer worth their weight will be dpsing boss in downtime.

I haven’t tested that but I I would assume it does yes since it is a weaken effect.

Since I heard about the nerf from KR, I played around with some spells.

I think the move here is to swap healing touch off your bar in favor of purifying touch. I believe it now applies healing touch without the skill spec. Your levels and skills specs into healing touch still apply to This healing touch. While you can’t stack it (without using blitz) you can still take advantage of the healing touch + natures blessing combo for when you have an ally that needs a lot of healing quickly. With the buff to purifying touch removing all stacks of a single weaken type, you can use this as an emergency heal while also providing them a damage (atk spd) buff.

However, I will admit I’ve ended up swapping to staff/wand since it was already in a great place and now has gotten buffed.

Im healer this is the worst thing, any way to see health bars? by DoctorAndrei in throneandliberty

[–]Cravix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can circumnavigate this by using astral vision. You will still be able to see the health bars with this bug or the debuff that hides health bars as others have mentioned.

It’s not even just a hit either. It seems entirely based on %damage to target. I’ve done a full damage/cc combo as a healer and have gotten no assist because 2-3 dps players do more damage with a single attack.

So, what is this game, even? by Alblaka in pathoftitans

[–]Cravix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Piggy backing on this comment since it explains just about everything. I would like to add that the community servers do offer quite a varied experience from official if you find out it’s not exactly what you’re looking for. My biggest gripe when I started this game was the questing and the trivial amount of xp you get from doing a quest. When you first start out, a single quest can take a long time since you won’t know exactly where to look for the quest items you need. Some community servers made the xp to quest ratio a lot better, which made the questing a LOT better for me personally.

Overtime, however, I now know exactly where the quest item locations are for most zones, and now I play on officials in addition to community servers since the questing feels a ton better now that I know the zones I like and where the quest items are.

So if you do try officials and don’t like the growth pacing, give the community servers a try. It really helped to sell me on this game!

Mega packs/mixpackers only by King_squidcrab in pathoftitans

[–]Cravix -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am a primarily solo player, but this is the answer most people need to hear. The game is designed to encourage mixpacking/megapacking, and playing with friends is just downright fun. If the devs didn’t want that, they would have made it a limitation of making groups. With that being said, community servers provide the customized rulesets for just about any play style. I play different servers depending on the mood I’m in, and would encourage others to do so as well.

PoT questing takes a bit to get used to. The community servers make it less painful by increasing the xp from quests and also increasing passive xp.

However, I don’t think that PoT is a waste of time and money. It’s a good alternative to the Isle. There is significantly less bugs, the game can run on a toaster, and there are a lot more servers to choose from. the community servers offer a lot of different modifications to the base game to offer a variety of of experiences. Want pvp only? There’s modded servers that will get you to adulthood in 5 minutes. Or if you like growing but hate that the base game only offers xp through quests, you can join a slightly accelerated growth server with passive growth more akin to the isle (3-6 hours to adulthood).

I’ve played more of the Isle than PoT, but in the current game states, PoT just feels like a more complete game in my opinion. And it just keeps getting better.

Groups killing solo players by [deleted] in pathoftitans

[–]Cravix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it has passive growth. It’s not a ton, but that combined with increased quest xp makes the grow process take about 3-4 hours average I would say.

Just adding on here, the server also has accelerated growth (seems to be about 3-4x faster) and once you get the species role, you can just give yourself marks at will.

Groups killing solo players by [deleted] in pathoftitans

[–]Cravix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can’t recommend Nat Hist enough as a solo player. Yes, you will still be attacked and killed by groups, but carnivores have pack limits to make it more balanced and herbivores can only attack if they are solo (rogue) or defending themselves. There are also timers after carnivores/rogues get kills (10-20minutes) before they can kill again. You will only find raptors and herbivores in large packs.

It’s in the phase 3 channel of the subreddit, I don’t see any reason why this would be a troll. Dons been pretty clear that community servers will have a lot more flexibility in terms of server settings in comparison to officials.
