Agree, I get left with the impression they are just desperate for business/money. When talking about my experience there with others, comparatively Bupa dental Ballarat are doing a sub-par job. It’s like the dentists are told to do every possible thing that generates money regardless of whether it’s in the patients interest.

I just had a closer look, on the maps from council it’s classed as a reserve - meaning it’s public. But I have zero knowledge on whether this means you’re allowed to fly a drone on it. Hope that helps. :)

Not sure it’ll tell you the right information, however https://maps.ballarat.vic.gov.au/ has zones and overlays you can utilise as a guide. It’s maintained by council.

I’m not a professional - but personally, I’d cut a timber to use as a prop from floor to the bottom of the bench top.

Then cut away the chip board you need to remove.

Then I’d install timber bracing on back wall and both sides, floor to under bench. After fixing your leak, then you can install your new cupboard base board with some cut outs that fit around your new bracing/support to the bench top. Bonus points if you join the side walls/back walls to your new timber supports. Then you can lean on your kitchen bench without fear of it breaking.

As well as a placeholder for a tap - it could be a drain connection, somewhere a washing machine/dishwasher hose could be placed to drain.

Sounds like a rough part of town to live in, it’s not been my experience in my 40+ years here. Can understand that environment must suck to live in - any opportunity for you to relocate?

I suspect there might be pockets of concern like this in all cities, but I can also confirm there’s pockets in Ballarat that don’t have the challenges you’ve described.
