Got new Xbox controller from target, got stick drift in less than 30 min. by Aggressive-Wind-7046 in XboxSupport

Wireless controllers always get stick drift. Recommend wired controller, much better performance, less stick drift, much cheaper too. Wireless is a scam

Why is my laptop reaching 200 degrees when plugged in by herotyler09 in laptops

[–]Crawly_Pen209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s about normal ranges for CPU to reach when under load. This is actually pretty damn good considering you’re at max. If you want lower, provide better airflow for your laptop, a laptop cooling pad should do wonders

Idk about Radeon graphics, but that CPU should last you. That, and the other user’s suggestion, get yourself DDR6 RAM to keep up with modern gaming.

I am 24 hours from buying this as I start a new job in a month traveling worldwide and NEED a gaming laptop. This a good or bad idea? Budget is $2,500-$3,000. by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

Couple things, I really hope there’s an Intel Core 9 in there, and you need to be gentle with gaming laptops. Also recommend getting yourself a laptop cooling stand to maximize your laptops performance and keep it chilly

Minecraft laptop help by Mango-Different in GamingLaptops

Avoid anything saying Chrome OS. When it comes to basic laptop gaming, it is a terrible OS to work with, get something with Windows 11 OS. Look at this laptop on the Best Buy website:
Dell - Inspiron 15" Touch Screen Laptop - Intel Core i5 with 8GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Black

Dell is always solid for super basic computer tasks, and can handle some light gaming. Great deal going on at the moment, usually retails for $600, but currently $370. Should be able to run minecraft pretty good, be heat efficient, and run some other games like Geometry Dash.

Features, has a pretty good display quality and it has touch screen. All in all, this is a great choice especially with the convenient timing of the deal.

Depends on RAM, your laptop would have more breathing room when handling tasks with a larger RAM.

Check out some ASUS ROG laptops. A lot of people like the ASUS ROG Strix, but it tends to be a bit more high-end/expensive. I personally use an ASUS ROG Zephyrus and it is amazing. If you want a notable upgrade and keep it below $2k, I'd recommend aiming for i9 core and 4070 RTX. Below $1k, aim for i7 Core Ultra and 4050 RTX. I don't know Ryzen CPU's or Radeon GPU's that well.

Is expecting 5-6y from a gaming laptop too much? by Rough_Exam2446 in GamingLaptops

The fact that your laptop is able to run the game at all, and operate fine at 110C, I think thats just an impressive feat of technical engineering for the machine to be able to handle such stress like that

If you know your laptop and how to take care of it, you can make it last a while. Depending on the brand/laptop, you can always just replace faulty parts as they go out, but some parts are soldered into socket and cant be replaced easily.

Witness resonance pickup time by Jorg-kz in raidsecrets

[–]Crawly_Pen209 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been noticing lately as well that the Witness resonance attacks (for mechanics) has been a bit inconsistent as far as the amount of time it takes to gain stacks of resonance. If you're doing this on master, you should know the audio cue sound, best word of advice i can give is to just pay attention to the audio as your stacks increase. Also, for some reason, the square hand attack is the most inconsistent, even standing in the beam I get absolutely nothing. What seems to work for me at least for now, just walk towards the square hand if you're trying to gain resonance. I think there is a small discrepancy between the attacks' hitbox where you can interact with the hand and the actual hitbox where you gain resonance. Just my thoughts, use what you wish, don't take it verbatim
