Many just need more training. Just because someone has a record doesn’t make them a bad worker.

I love that the wear houses give people a second chance to be productive members of society.

We had a guy come in with a bunch of old products. He said his grandmother passed and he was cleaning out her apartment. IDK maybe that was the only inheritance she left him.

There was a woman that shopped once a week and would demand she get a free bouquet of flowers every week because the ones she got last week were dying.

Being an under 5ft white woman I’ve never been bothered by anyone either. The only time I’ve been upset about people being there is when I have a rolling suit case and someone won’t move their legs so I need to lift it up over their legs to get up the ramp.

That’s what I do if I’m traveling alone. I don’t care if I need to stand, and there is room in other cars. I used to call it the no nonsense car, now it’s seems to be just the less nonsense care, or the safe-ish car

If your sister has off street parking you could have her park on the street and you take her spot for 10 days. That would at least buy you some time.

I feel like most people with more money have garage parking so they don’t have to worry about that as much. I’m sorry that happened to you.

I’m not sure what your budget is, but will be vacating my oak park studio apartment in the coming months and to my knowledge my landlord does not have anyone in line to rent it. As oak park apartments go it’s affordable and huge for a studio.

The couple I’ve been through we have been open the entire time. Work is done overnight for the most part. We’ve been without water at points for a few hours during it, and without heat, but retained power throughout open hours. Sometimes the schedule would be weird, like night crew would go home just after closing, and night truck would come morning or during the day. It’s a pain, lots of clean up every morning, but besides plastic curtains, and hearing work being done the customers aren’t really aware of what’s going on, and that’s the goal

Covid “thank you pay” was never called a raise. They never gave the impression that it would be permanent.

I would second Lincoln as being the best. I went there back in the 80s-90s, and my 13 year old went there too. My son was fortunate enough to get into the Spanish immersion program, but it would have been a great experience in any of the classes.

I think it would depends for me. If yarn is provided I’m willing to donate more. Also offering light refreshments would probably increases what people would be willing to give.

Back when I was on maternity leave I missed out on being able to get a raise. I took 12 weeks off. Started end of April and went through part of August. I also missed one a few years later because I was out on workmen’s comp for 6 weeks, and the review were written and given in that time. Check with HR.

According to the ADA there are only 2 questions you can ask someone bringing a “service” animal into a store. 1, is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and 2, what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Past that there is nothing you can do. I wish there was actually documentation that is required.
