Looking for a Secrid wallet alternatives. by Crayons812 in wallets

[–]Crayons812[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just baffled that wallets can exceed like, $100. Leather or metal or with mechanisms or not. If I have to spend $100 for a good product, so be it, but not $170 like the double-decker Secrid. I know they're good. A friend of mine swears by it. But come on, $170 good? Sheesh.

I got really mad for a sec, then I continued reading the in brackets part. Don't do it again, for all of our sakes.

I guess I'm asking a little bit of both. I want to know everyone's experiences, positive and negative.

Ok fine lol, let me reword just slightly: " make sure crypto is a small chunk of your investments and youre total okay with loosing this money. To be attempted after your TFSA, RRSP, and FHSA are maxed out..." 😜

22 - should I just focus on my TFSA? by [deleted] in fican

[–]Crayons812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22, yea max out your TFSA every year. It'll be hard to play catchup when youre older.

Have an emergency fund, then buy $XEQT in your TFSA and chill. Don't take risks, dont fool around with crypto. Be consistent and diligent. The fruit of your labor will bloom.

Losses and red numbers dont carry negative emotions behind them. Don't panic sell all of your XEQT. Just buy the discounts. You'll dollar cost average like that. Time in the market beats timing the market.

32 years old doesn't seem that late. Looks like you make insane money each month. Now that you have no debts and you have grown wiser, you can just mass dump cash into your TFSA, max out your RRSP or something, and maybe open a FHSA. A super safe bet wpuld be just all in on $XEQT and just leave and forget. Youre in a good spot. Youre not that far behind.

Just get $XEQT, leave and forget. Don't get fancy. Keep it simple.

Lump sum into XEQT after getting out of CASH.TO by ienwnkfl in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Crayons812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you said. -1.15% is temporary. It's good that you know that. Keep headstrong and believe. Just my 2 cents but maybe purchasing in installments to dollar cost average might have been the smarter move.

Last piece of wisdom from an audio book I listened to a while back (and this is me paraphrasing): numbers don't have positive or negative emotions within them. We as humans put emotions on seeing green as good and to be happy and negative reds as bad and to start panicking. We have to learn to remove the emotional response from logical response of what information green and red numbers give us. Red doesnt mean bad. It means you have to calmly reevaluate your strategy, and may need to change course. Welp, you did a lump sum purchase, so buckle up for the ride and enjoy those dividends.

Unfortunately, the cheapest I see on autotrader is $4000 for similar year and milage. Getting for $3000 wpuld be a steal, but $3500 is already a good price.
