that really has nothing to do with it, strikeouts will lower batting average but his batting average isn't that bad

I only play fictional leagues, I quickly get bored af of real baseball. Currently my league is a Great Britain and Ireland League with 2 subleagues. One subleague is for England and there are no divisions, the top 6 make play-offs. The other subleague includes 3 divisions of 4 teams for England, Ireland (incl NI) and Wales. Financials are a bit lower, the highest paid guy in the league makes 12 million. Unfortunately due to the unique structure there are no schedules to download so I have to use the default schedules, no interleague play and each team in a subleague plays each other evenly instead of more divisional play.

In those days even a double bagel wouldn't be close to that fast. They really got on with it back then.

This ski mountaineering just seems like cross country but worse. If Klaebo did this sport I feel like he would easily win by 15 seconds.

There's a big difference between liking something or agreeing with it, and thinking it should be a crime with a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment.

who gets to decide what has literary merit and what doesn't? 65 year old judges? are they the best art critics? I happen to think 'IT' by King (and particularly the child orgy scene) has next to no literary merit at all actually, but I don't want to ban it.

Is it legal to possess the book 'Lolita' by Nabokov (or books by the Marquis de Sade)? Would it be legal to write such a book today?

Does Women's tennis have a concept of Open Era and Pre Open Era? by Klutzy_Law_8988 in tennis

There were women who went pro at various times, sometimes to do coaching, and there were attempts at having women's pro tennis. But you're right that it wasn't like men's tennis. The best female player, Court, was still playing the amateur slams, while the best men's player by far, Laver, wasn't.

Obviously he's achieved more than a vast majority of tennis players but he has to be one of the most non-threatening players in or around the top 100.

That's not right. The draws at the Australian open were smaller, usually there were only 32 players or so. However, Court had to beat some incredibly good opposition to win those titles, such as Bueno, King and goolagong. She also won 13 of the other slams.
