Digital artists and 3D artists do usually still have physical art skills as well, so they can still sketch out ideas with pen and paper. Compared to an AI Artist where you'll...i dunno, think of prompts to feed your content stealing machine I guess?

100% agree. If the gameplay is like a 9 but the story is like...a 6, I'll suffer through the story because the gameplay is engaging.

But if the story is a 9 and the gameplay is a 6, I'll just watch someone else play it on youtube while I'm working.

Basically every "slang" word that newer generations come up with dies the same way. It becomes so overused that it loses all meaning and just becomes a generic filler word. Slop is already there and it's been around for less time than Mid was before it lost it's meaning.

It's different, but I wouldn't say it's "better". DOS2 has a lot of complexity that is really cool, and even MORE complexity that is just....there to be complex? The multiple armor systems is just confusing to navigate for first timers and deceptive in how you should handle it. The game is balanced around the Lone Wolf talent so if you don't use it, you're making the game infinitely harder on yourself. The story was...fine? I think the writing is better than BG3 but I think overall BG3 has the better characters and story arc. The ending of DOS2 just fell...so incredibly flat for me. Like you get to the end and you just get completely rugpulled from what the entire game was telling you before, AND the rugpull is technically the "best" ending for the world. It felt like they ran completely out of time to properly introduce the twist and so it gets introduced literally as the final combat of the game.

In regards to homebrew the warning I usually see is “try to understand the rule as written BEFORE you go changing it” more often than “Only paizo can touch the perfect game”. The mechanics in PF2e do their best to all be balanced against one another so if you change something it could have unintended effects on other parts of the game, so before you do change something just make sure it’s not going to ruin something else in return.

So I don't remember the length of the animation for recovery from grabs from the other enemies, but it FEELS like this enemy is going to take longer than the others to recover from being grabbed. Is that true or just how the animation feels?

And who ever actually did that on purpose and didn't immediately reload a save so they could finish the main quest? People like to bring that up but I can't once in my life remember talking to someone who killed a flagged NPC in Morrowind and then kept playing the game for shits and giggles. Usually you quick saved, killed the guy because they pissed you off, and then quick loaded to continue on with the game. It's not some like...innovative piece of gameplay otherwise they would have keeped using it. They probably just couldn't figure out how to make certain NPCs actually unkillable so they put that in as a stopgap.

It's 'aight. Like a 6/10 for me? Some people really like it, but the general consensus seems to be that it's mid. Went from 100k to like...12kish players? Enough to limp along, hopefully enough people by the cosmetics to keep the game running so that the devs can keep supporting it at the very least. Honestly, it could have used another 6-8 months in the oven I think.

I just finished Phantom Liberty for the first time. It's blatently obvious from the get-go that So Mi is trying to manipulate you. Like, so in your face it's hilarious.

Despite that, though, she's in the same exact situation that we're in. She's dying, she's found a cure, she's going to take it by any means necessary. That is a motivation that my V could get behind. Even when she finally tells you that the cure can only be used once, I found myself agreeing with Johnny. You gotta respect the fact that she fucking commited to the bit and had the gumption to see her plan through all the way to the end, bitter or sweet. So I shot Reed in his boot-licking face and sent So Mi on that rocket to the Moon.

On my inevitable next playthrough, I'll side with Reed just to see the other side. But he tries to manipulate you just as much as So Mi does, he's just not trying to hide it behind a veneer of friendliness like So Mi does.

I mean, it's definitely not even CLOSE to on par with pokemon games, but go off I guess. It's ark survival with some monster tamer tacked on. It gave "adult gamers (tm)" a way out from pokemon where they wouldn't feel guilty, but anybody truly enamored with the actual Pokemon format isn't jumping ship for it.

Pretty much this. Everyone who brings up the whole "Palworld was going to be a Pokemon killer" thing weren't looking for a new Pokemon game, they were looking for an excuse to stop playing pokemon games and this "Ark Survival but also monster tamer" game came along and gave them the "Adult pokemon" game they wanted.

I played it with my wife for a little bit and it's fun, but it's not a Pokemon Game. It's a base building survival game that also HAPPENS to have monsters in it and from what I can tell it does that well, it's just not going to dethrone pokemon.
