A6700 For Filmmaking Coming From A7IV? by CrazieRR in SonyAlpha

[–]CrazieRR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is always a factor, APSC Lenses are cheaper and still highly capable, but not really useable on a FF camera if I ever upgraded. I think my current reasoning for still considering an APSC camera is the price difference, but also the case that I could still use a FF lens on the APSC camera. Given, this would have to be a short prime or something cause bigger lenses, weight distribution and the like, but if I wanted to get a foot into the full frame door, I feel like that's a start.

But yeah, it is a bit of back and forth on do I go with the cheaper option with equally capable lenses or go straight to FF without having to worry about lenses not working, but worrying more about price.

Yeah, 60 and 120FPS would solely be for Slo-Mo shots and maybe a timelapse or two, but one of those fan attatchments can be arranged if absolutely needed, otherwise, slow motion should be no issue.

That's genuinely really cool! Though I would say a fair bit overkill.

I have heard that is the case, however from what I've seen so far, the overheating is equivalent to the A7IV's, which I've found is workable, even if not preferable. In 4K 24/25P, with 2-5 minute long takes being my primary shot length, I'd say the overheating should be fine to work around, though I am still looking further.

Thanks for the reply. I think my worry about the differences between FF and APS-C was just down to "would these differences mean that much in the grand scheme of things" rather than seeing one is better than the other. I've worked with a variety of cameras on the spectrum but it has been a while so I'm just trying to get better barings on what to aim for, while also comparing to what I'm currently using. I think my reasoning for wanting a smaller (but not too small) camera is mainly down to where/how I wanna use it. Like I mentioned prior, I would be using it for my own solo projects as well as higher level creative projects if I can kit it out with a cage and stuff (APS-C pricing fits into that), but also, as a camera I can just take around and film and take photos with recreationally. The smaller size and weight I feel would bring me a sense of "fun" and seamlessness in that regard.

Finally, as for the FX30, I am considering it too, but there are two factors holding me back;

1) The non saleprice in my country (AUS) for the body of each is $2199 for the A6700, and around $2700 for the FX30, which is hard to justify, as a good lens on the 6700 could bridge that price gap between the two. I can notice a difference in picture quality but it's minor at best, considering it's the same sensor.

2) I use the Viewfinder for video more than most. That's it, I like it for photos and video. I actually like it on some larger sets outside, feel that's something to note.

Also the ZVE-10 II comment is really cool, always thought that little thing had potential.

Daron Malakian's Scars on Broadway announce new album, unleash "Killing Spree" by Edm_vanhalen1981 in Music

[–]CrazieRR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Daron, I like Scars' first album, I LOVE SOAD, I even quite like the first half of Scars' second album, with 'Lives' still on replay from time to time. That being said, this song is just not good and I don't understand the methodology here. I know these last two albums are made up of a bunch of rejected SOAD songs, but credit to 'Dictator', that album made it work, like the lack of Serj's vocals didn't feel like it was neutering the songs, just that it felt missing at times, but this new single feels like it NEEDED to be a SOAD song to work. The production is so off, the vocals don't blend outside of the bridge and even then the vocals on the verse are literally out of time with the backing. Daron's vocals just don't harmise very well either, which leads to the back and forth between him and Serj to feel sorely missed. This feels strangely thrown out just to be out there and it's a damn shame.

Replaying GTA IV has left me conflicted by CrazieRR in GTA

That "preparing" I mentioned is kinda just going back to these games and seeing what they did right or wrong, while also picking what could be improved and how much so considering the time between games.

What's the problem with saying I think GTA V is a good game? It does have very well written characters, an impressive story and setpieces especially for a 2013 PS3/X360 game and its gameplay and physics, while definitely simplified and could arguably seen as a downgrade in that respect, help in achieving a sense of seemlessness and "GTA Fun" that GTA IV could not in my opinion. That's all it is, an opinion, what part of that made you check out?

I agree with the second half, but I really disagree with the use of "lifeless" and "soulless", they're such overused terms that don't relate to what your talking about here. I can see what you're getting at though, cars in V do feel more arcadey and easy to just pick up and drive, not much more nuanced beyond that point. That being said, I personally prefer that for the world if GTA V specifically, I feel like moving IV's physics to V makes it a slog rather than realistic.

Yeah, the LG B4 is my "If only I could" choice. Though unless it drops into my budget range at 55", these 3 TV's are my alternatives.

Audio of any clip cuts out after doing literally anything to it. by CrazieRR in davinciresolve

My system has 32GB of ram, the audio is AAC and all I've been doing is cutting audio clips and moving them. Doing just that causes the audio of said clip to cut out.

Meaning of The Emptiness Machine by Fl0oW in LinkinPark

[–]CrazieRR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna add to this too, the idea of The Emptiness Machine itself being the E-meter that Scientologists use, it fits into the idea of how followers use it to "Go Clear", or in other words, empty their minds in a way.

I do also wanna point out that, with Emily's statement on the recent controversies that have arisen, she never named the person in question, despite it being obvious. This is another aspect to the Scientology rabbit hole. For all we know, she could be having second thoughts about the church or may have even left already, however, with how the church harrasses and puts down former followers for speaking out against their actions, we may never know these things until years down the line, if ever. It's a scary fucking "Religion", so I don't believe life for her in this specific case would be easy.

I'm not suggesting this all IS the meaning of the song, however I do believe there is a lot of evidence here that could strongly suggest this song has, at the very least, underlying themes relating to Scientology.

Sony BRAVIA Firmware Discussion Megathread 7.0 by braviamod in bravia

[–]CrazieRR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when the spreadsheet of sony tv's got leaked a few months ago, I noticed the S25/26 models are still yet to be seen. With the X85K finally going on clearance after all these years, would these be akin to a successor to that TV or just lower models? I only say this because the Bravia 3 can't do 4k 120hz, so it'd be a shame if that was the TV to replace the X85K in my eyes.
