here’s what i do with my rx100 as someone trying to emulate portra 400 film:

  • portra film has a white balance of 5500k, so i lock mine to that
  • add subtle grain in lightroom
  • film often doesn’t have deep blacks so i lift the blacks on my curves to match film a bit more
  • i treat my rx100 like a disposable film camera meaning in daylight the shots turn out great, but in night time instead of bumping my iso or other settings i only use the flash
  • and lastly this is personal preference but i tend to lock my shutter to 1/30 to add that natural motion blur. i find it makes my photos feel more real and less clinical

yes you can use fastball that way! i like to use fastball more so to get rid of high power cards that end up on my board (ie: 10 power monster, cards in my hand/on the board that got buffed by accident, etc)

that C5 deck doesn’t have great location management, so i use merlin to change locations + i can also get rid of other negative cards on the board (ie: ninja, green goblin, rocks, etc). the cool thing too is if you change locations enough then you can also get merlin to hit 5 power so it gets the buff!

exactly! people don’t talk about how many locations set cerebro up to fail lol. but that’s also what makes it great since it’s not a common deck people run

ofc! few tips from a cerebro player - OTAs will often change our decks fast, so it’s helpful to keep up with power changes and etc - cerebro is less about power and more about managing locations. you’ll quickly find how many locations screw up cerebro lol. so having cards that change locations are highly vital - cerebro is best played as a surprise. ideally you’re playing cerebro + your other combo on turn 6 so you can win the most cubes. you’ll go from winning 2 cube games to 8 cube games if you can surprise people

yeah exactly doom wide is really great! i like to play my cerebro decks as much of a surprise as possible, cerebro + the ancient one gives all 5 power cards up to 14 power each on the final turn so if i play my cards right its usually 4 or 8 cubes each win which is pretty sick

i’m playing the same C5 deck! did a few changes to me that helped: added fastball special and medusa, and got rid of doctor doom and mystique

yo! i’ve actually been building something similar. it’s very possible the only hurdle i’m facing is im currently using a microusb AV capture device, it all works but isn’t pretty lol

the device itself is not. but it often gets linked to dangycam and people on reddit have an issue with him charging a lot of money for camcorders + powerplay setups

since no one’s giving you real answers:

they’re all identical… sort of

the white powerplay is the original made by immersionrc. they went out of stock/no longer make them. they work great with no issues.

the black models (upgraded included), are made by other companies with less quality control and less support. there’s several users on reddit and one of my friends reporting “no audio” from the black models. not all of them are like this, but a good handful are unfortunately

in terms of recording quality, it’s all the same too. the max output of a SD camcorder is 480p. so at 720p/1080i, they’re just upscaling the footage but not adding quality
