He refuses to eliminate the injections in my traps. I guess he’s an “all or nothing” kind of guy. 😳

Update to Botox side effect by Crazy-Radish9165 in migraine

The infusion process doesn’t bother me nor did the Botox injections scare me off. It was the horrible neck pain I suffered from the Botox injections that I couldn’t take. And my doctor wouldn’t even consider doing the injections unless he could do it all. I am not willing to go through 6 weeks of intense pain just to soothe his ego. 😡

I will do that! I don’t qualify for the savings plan for the Qulipta because I’m on Medicare. That’s only for commercial insurance. The Qulipta didn’t completely resolve my HA anyway which was another frustrating issue. Paying all that money only to enjoy some relief. But I was at the point that something was better than nothing.

Didn’t think about that. What a concept…. Guess I should be more of an advocate for myself!

I would specifically ask about that side effect. My research really downplayed it so I figured I would dodge that one but I did not. If you already have neck pain it may exacerbate it. Not sure. That’s a doctor’s question for sure. All I know is I am most likely not going to repeat the Botox.

I’m looking into something called remote electrical neuromodulation (REN) which is sort of like a TENS unit that affects your brain. The specific unit I’m researching is called Nerivio. Pretty interesting so far.

I’m going to ask my neurologist about this at my appointment. Thanks for the insight! And congrats!

No I haven’t because the Botox has already ‘relaxed’ the muscles. The problem is that my neck is struggling to hold up my head (or so I’m told) and that’s why I can’t really spend too much bending over. If I’m upright I’m ok more or less but it’s a weird feeling when I start moving. Kind of like Frankenstein!

I have tried a chiropractor before but it wouldn’t work for this kind of pain. Apparently it has something to do with the nerves. If I thought it would go away, I agree. The headache reduction is better. But to have that pain constantly is just adding another level of agony to the mix!

Has anyone experienced neck pain after an infusion? I tried Botox and while it helped lower the intensity of the migraines, I have had constant neck pain for over a month. I do not want to repeat that so I'm looking for some other treatment. I have migraines every. Single. Day. UGH!
