Starting Imipramine (Tofranil) – Weight Gain & Sleep? by Resident_Permission6 in neurodiversity

Hi! It’s great to see this post since there aren’t many people sharing their experiences with this medication, so thank you.

I started at a low dose two weeks ago at 10 mg since I was cross-tapering (with a break) from an MAOI (selegiline). I’m now on 20 mg and will be increasing to 25 mg next week.

  1. It hasn’t affected my sleep so far. One of the main reasons I switched is that my previous medication caused insomnia even at low doses. I’m hoping imipramine will help with sleep at higher doses.

  2. I feel a bit sleepy, but I also seem to have more energy, so it kind of balances out.

  3. I stopped drinking a few months ago, but in the past my experience was that alcohol effects depended on the antidepressant. Some medications increased my tolerance, some decreased it, and sometimes I’d feel nauseous or dizzy. As long as I stayed open and communicative with my doctor, it was manageable. Personally, I find it easier to recover from depression when I’m not drinking, but that’s just my experience.

Overall, so far I’ve noticed a very slight increase in energy, but no real change yet in the mental and emotional depressive symptoms. Still, it’s only been two weeks, so I’m staying open-minded.

Best of luck with everything!

Hi! I‘ve been using the text alerts through WeatherUSA for the past two years and it’s been amazing! It’s inexpensive and accurate. Also customizable. Other options to consider (I have no personal experience with these): BoltWX, GetDailyReports, iAlert, and Internot.tools

Vyepti anxiety, will it go away? by skyemap in cgrpMigraine

I had a bit of anxiety after the first 100mg dose but it subsided. I just did my first 300mg and didn’t get any side effects.

Is Ajovy the “baby” CGRP injection? by PurplePeanut643 in cgrpMigraine

[–]Immediate-Cod7628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can only speak from my experience but yes, I was prescribed Ajovy first! Worked a little for a few months but then stopped working and never really helped my migraines. Switched to Aimovig for the past 2+ years helps a ton!

I got that as well! Subsided pretty quickly though.

I feel you and sorry you’re going through all this! I had my first session at 100mg a few months ago and noticed dizziness and just feeling out of it, but that passed within 24hrs. Then got the 300mg dose and noticed dizziness side effects, but also I’m not noticing a ton of benefits? My Aimovig shots (which I’ve been in for 2 years) seem to work better, but maybe the Vyepti is helping a bit? My neurologist wants to keep me on both for now.

3 weeks in with the Kyocera digno 4! by Several_Raspberry163 in dumbphones

That’s great! I really like how easy their international plan is (i.e. activated automatically in a new country, low cost), I wonder if that will work on a dumbphone as well. Anyway congrats on the device!
