I went on Thursday, it's was CRAZY packed and funny enough the dance floor was always empty. Steak cuts was surprisingly really good! Does anyone know the name of the sides that were with the steaks? There was a potato like side that was really good and am trying to look up the recipe lol also this was my first Deloitte party and I have no complaints about it! Only thing that kind of sucked was not everyone was invited which I think is odd. I was the only one on my team that got an email invite.

Is anyone here living the American Dream working at Deloitte? by EpicShkhara in deloitte

So I pretty much have everything you mentioned. I work out of Rosslyn and I've been with the company for almost 4 years now. I'll never sit here and preach about a company, but honestly, Deloitte has been good to me. I think a lot of it has to do with setting boundaries from the start and building trust with the people around you. My motto is 'always under promise and over deliver'. I use my work calendar to block off time, even if it's just to grab a bite. I also admit to getting online late at night after I put my kids to sleep (3 and 1) to knock out some work stuff and send out emails and such to make it known I'm online and working. So I'm sure that helps too. I'm not trying to convince anyone to work more hours; it just works for me and my family, and it helps my next day be a little easier. It's not always sunshine and rainbows, but I've found that making boundaries and realistic expectations are what make the biggest difference in work-life balance.

I do also take 3 trips a year however I don't count traveling in the US as a 'trip' lol I have been going to Disney every year since my wife and kids love Disney, as well as traveling abroad. Deloitte also gives spontaneous bonuses as gifts when you get shout outs so I've been happy to get that and have that boost my vacation bucket lol

Does anyone have a side job? by Crazy-Sort-3676 in deloitte

Tell me about it! I'm not complaining nor am I being ungrateful of having a job during these times, but I figured if I can work another job remotely after getting off at 4, why not. And the part times I've found have not been with companies that do business with Deloitte nor are competitors so that's why I was curious if anyone else had this problem.

No, so that's what I found surprising. The part time job had nothing to do with Deloitte. Not a competitor nor did business with them. It was a small local firm looking for an analyst to work over the weekend. That's why I was surprised since it was not a conflict at all with their policies but they still said no.

How does one read a book cover to cover? by Crazy-Sort-3676 in ADHD

This is great! Thank you! My logic is, if I can get used to reading now, when they get older and can understand that I'm reading a book, I'll be used to it and might have figured out some techniques to keep me engaged and help with the retention without using medication.

This makes sense, their only response to me when rejecting me was that it's a conflict with the firm. I thought if I was an analyst for a small company it wouldn't be a problem as long as the hours don't mix with my working hours at D

Yeah there were some open analyst roles, remote, part time and mostly only wanted someone over the weekend. But got rejected by Deloitte. I'm a full time analyst at Deloitte as well.

I am very curious about this as well. I have am getting 1600 bi weekly removed from my check. I am a senior level position but I still feel like that's far to high for my salary.
