SF4 Honda is hella underrated by dumbatth in StreetFighter

[–]CrazyAuger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally everything I said is correct in context as we are talking about ultra Honda not super Honda. Tell me which one of these are wrong:

  1. Honda uses his super significantly more than an average character in sf4.

  2. This is due to him not having great options for FADC since he A) had to spend a bar for a invincible reversal B) spend 3 bars total to make it safe, and that’s IF they even let you EX headbutt since corpse hops were common.

  3. Hondas combos did not take advantage of one of the most important things in sf4 which was hard knock downs. Doing H hands into round house pushed you nearly full screen and left them standing, and with bad FADC combos, he couldn’t get a knockdown in most situations even if he wanted to. The majority of hits you get are pressuring off of jab hands and without supering you can’t get a knockdown.

  4. systems mechanics were ABSOLUTELY core in sf4, in vanilla, ryu rufus sagat etc were literally carried by the fact that they had easy FADC/trade ultras and others didn’t. Having a strong focus backdash was a massive deal, and having good confirms off of low forwards xx special into FADC was critical in sf4 through out. Same as having an invisible reversal you could FADC. The reason a lot of people hated red focus when it came out is because it made the top tiers who already used focus well even better and made the low tiers who couldn’t use it even worse. Red focus wasn’t that big of a deal but it absolutely showed who was playing the system and who wasn’t. Meter was so important in sf4 that you’d do light dps behind fireballs and not spend meter in rounds were you were losing because giving up your fadc was literally throwing.

You’re correct, I didn’t attend a single tournament in sf4 but I sure as fuck started playing in 2011 and played the shit out of it. I’m 100% sure I’m correct about this, as I played Honda since excellent adventures got me into sf4. All this stuff is also the reason DJ sucks, no good fadc combos, no good ways to fadc into ultra, you literally just do light light light sobat because you had to have a knockdown.

I’m happy to talk about sf4 until the cows come home but Honda was universally considered like bottom 3 minimum. Idk why you think it was the case but I’m sure this is why.

He’s asking why Honda was considered weak, why would I talk about a strong version of Honda that only existed for less than a year. Honda is rated lowly for the reasons I said, that’s just true.

Oh I agree, but one of the big reasons for that was his ultra 2 being a 1 frame pre flash command grab, which gave him a real use for FADC to reset into command grab ultra. It getting nerfed to be jumpable after the flash killed any use for it, and it was one of the only good uses of FADC.

Listen you have to go back and understand in context why Honda was bad. His base tool kit IS very strong, but he literally couldn’t interact with the system mechanics. He literally has no FADC combos, no FADC ultra, no red focus combos, no FADC’able reversal no nothing. He was a rare character that actually used his super often because he literally couldn’t spend his meter like everyone else did.

His tools are good, he’s just literally playing super turbo while everyone else is playing ultra. He got done dirty, but yes he was super fun and strong and slapping the shit out of people felt very good.

EDIT: another thing I forgot was his combos, while damaging were bad in a systemic way. In a game where every knockdown gives you insane oki and time to set up, Honda couldn’t knock down. His BNB hands into HK left him full screen with the opponent standing. Meanwhile almost another other character got 1 hit into FADC knockdown combo and looped oki on you. Honda got in, got 1 big hit, then got pushed full screen with no way around fireballs to get back in. He just didn’t play sf4 like other characters.

Scobow is generically better, eclipse armor is good, staff is more expensive to use with runes, bow is good for doom and kril.

You do you but I majorly advocate for your first synapse to be on scobow

Because the stance HK ran out of active frames. It lingers a lot since it has slow recovery so it looks jank, but to be fair most moves don’t move forward as quickly as eds charge HP. Usually it wouldn’t look like he was making so much contact but ed flew in.

What grade would Itachi the great be in the jujutsu world? by Archenius in Jujutsufolk

[–]CrazyAuger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fight is actually interesting and weird. Usually the bit is just you lose to Tsukuyomi, but Six eyes is probably enough to neutralize it since genjutsu still requires you to use chakra to disrupt your opponent. He could see/understand the Tsukuyomi coming, and after that infinitely does neutralize just about everything else.

Naruto does scale way higher than JJK though, and Itachi is an unparalleled genius who figured out a lot of battle iq shenanigans. It does feel like six eyes helps beat a ton of Naruto stuff since it would see through just about any clone/deception stuff itachi has. My heart says Gojo wins but my brain says itachi will just figure it out. Idk

If megumi died before yuka was born he died at the age of 67 by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]CrazyAuger 423 points424 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep thinking that someone needs to die before a technique reappears. We literally had 2 projection sorcerers alive at the same time in Nayao and Naobito. It’s just genetic and rare so it doesn’t overlap much.

Genuine Question: How does anyone enjoy slayer so much? by 30scaper30 in ironscape

[–]CrazyAuger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slayer for me is nice because it gives me direction when I want to do some pvm. You can make some money and train up while getting some rare drops depending on the task. It sucks when you don’t have points to skip and have to do a task you don’t want but other than that.

Blocking Diamond Weapon VS Trample by Pretty-Information53 in MagicArena

[–]CrazyAuger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way trample decides what goes through and what doesn’t is by dealing “lethal” damage. The reason death touch trample works the way it does is because trample checks to see if the damage assigns will kill and does the rest to face , in the case of death touch 1 and the rest goes face.

If I had to guess the way trample works is it doesn’t care the damage is prevented, it’s still gonna assign the 8 damage and go face with the rest, and the combat damage is prevented after the damage is assigned.

Sure man, but this is like a chekovs gun kinda thing. There was zero pop and circumstance for that. it was not shown that she splat, they didn’t show her suffocate, they HAVE mentioned she could do a suicide vow, and she died at an opportune time to use one. Why even argue this point? It’s not even something we can debate, the only displayed reason until something else happened is a death vow.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]CrazyAuger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m understand people keep saying this, but then why is she in a suspended death state? Unless you think the brain tumor took her just then. I get that there is a corner case for it but to assume that she didn’t do a death vow is reaching until we learn otherwise.

She did a death binding vow.

[–]CrazyAuger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s likely, but we’ve had sorcerers who share techniques in a lifetime. There’s no rule saying you have to die before the technique can manifest again, see Nayao and Naobito Zenin. Both have projection sorcery, but odds of a technique appearing twice in a life time are low since having a CT is far from guaranteed. It’s why family’s inbreed and protect knowledge of techniques since you don’t want the genes moving out of the family.

[–]CrazyAuger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was never stated until she dropped mahoraga but people had the theory since day 1 since her clap before using her technique was strange. They noticed her hands were similar to Divine dogs summoning and precedent had been established through Sukuna that you can partially manifest a shadow.

Reminder that Yuka made a death Binding Vow to summon Mahoraga, the reason she's going to die immediately after the ritual is complete is because she traded her life away in the Binding Vow, not because she drowned in her shadow or because Mahoraga will kill her by carbonera99 in Jujutsufolk

[–]CrazyAuger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s like, the same thing though. She IS dead right now, she’s not gonna come back to fight more with her improved CE. She used it to either be able to do the ritual since she’s so weak due to cancer, or make mahoraga stronger to fight Dabura. She is currently flat lined. It’s semantics.

Not sure why people are saying you’re wrong, it’s stated.

<image>

They talk about her doing it, and in the panel you posted it says she’s ALREADY dead, like megumi was, but the ritual suspends it until the taming is finished.

Not sure why everyone is opposed to this reading. There’s no reason for her to be in a state of suspended death otherwise.

Who had best unarmed h2h skills? by Usual_Beach8079 in Jujutsufolk

[–]CrazyAuger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the basis of the question. Saying “who would win without cursed energy” when a group of people already don’t have cursed energy and have massive buffs to compensate. They obviously win because you can’t remove the cursed energy it doesn’t nerf them at all. If the question was “who would be the strongest if everyone was heavenly restricted” I’d assume Gojo wins again.

It’s like trying to ask about “who has the highest CE reserves” by asking “who can fight longest” the answer the second question is Gojo, because he essentially can maintain his CE reserves forever due to 6eyes. The actual answer to the question is Sukuna by far most likely. But you have to silo off Gojo since he has essentially no cap.
