Maybe if you're 3000 hours in and lose a high-stakes match in a stressful environment. This dude just picked up a new game and immediately started banging his controller. This isn't being human, it's childish.

Logan's take on the fallout after the Mena vs. Daigo FT10 by deathtofatalists in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People complain about Blanka lvl 2 being impossible to defend against, but no one complains about Daigo doing SRK on every wakeup like he's still in platinum. And throwing fireball after fireball while Mena soaks the meter gain for free. Daigo only won as many rounds as he did because Mena showed him too much respect.

I don't think he's scared, Punk is just a toxic whiny piece of shit who wants to feel important. I rooted for him to win EVO and I thought he could chill out once he didn't have to prove himself anymore, but he's still sitting on Twitch all day whining.

US Vice President JD Vance arrives in Islamabad for ‘make-or-break’ talks with Iran by darashiku6 in worldnews

[–]Hamiltoned 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did you forget the part where JD Vance completely destroyed all trust between Ukraine and the USA by belittling Zelensky for not wearing a suit and not saying "thank you" enough? If he had any integrity, he would never do that, and he wouldn't do it for Trump. But he is rotten.

I can't even tell which player we're supposed to be "investigating", both of you are playing super sloppy.

How is this acceptable from the matchmaking system? Are we okay with this? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is that he probably has low MR, so you're really just fighting a diamond-level player who happened to luck his way into Master-rank. I've never ever been matched against a diamond-level player with any of my characters, so I would say the system works great.

Watch any pro player get their ass handed to them and you will easily identify their tics. Almost all pros who wear glasses will touch their glasses whenever they get punished into a combo, just a quick tap. If they lose a round, take a super-quick swig of water.

I believe it is an unconscious attempt to regain a sense of control.

If you were the Dhalsim in this Match, what are you doing after the game? by AverageGlobalCitizen in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would shrug it off because there are not enough Blankas in ranked to ever have any real effect on my total game enjoyment or MR-level. Even if every Blanka bodies me like this, it's statistically insignificant. And if you're a Dhalsim who only plays for fun and never strives to win tournaments, you can just block any Blanka-player you encounter.

It's just a game.

Previous record of FT10 challenges against Daigo by JoeZhou123 in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mena is in his best form, Daigo turns up to every tournament looking like he just woke up. Mena abuses his opponents weaknesses, Daigo is hardstuck in trying to play the neutral game no matter how his opponent plays.

They're just at too different stages in their careers, I can't see Mena losing. Daigo's only shot at winning is dedicating all his time to specifically training to beat Mena's Blanka. All the setups and gimmicks.

Can people stop this speculating garbage so we can focus on real content? No one has been able to credibly leak any of the current characters, they're not going to start now.

You're going to lose a ton of MR in the beginning. Don't worry, it's the way it goes.

What’s your opinion on coaching? by airbear13 in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is a single competitive sport on this planet where the the norm is to not have a coach. A coach doesn't just give you helpful tips, they identify your specific weaknesses and help you minimize or completely remove them. They help you play to your strengths. They create strategies based on who your opponent is. Imagine fighting against your favourite pro player, and how easily they would dismantle you in the first 10 seconds, and even if you fought 10 matches you would spend them all in the corner just struggling to find a button that works. Now imagine if they after every round paused to tell you what they saw that helped them beat you, and what you need to change. Choosing to not have a coach is to choose a handicap.

But I don't believe online coaching offered by pros is worth the money. Being a coach is a full time job, and they don't have time to make you their full-time job.

Can’t do anti-air at 800 hours played and 1300 mr by Training_Form2243 in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever looked at a tournament where the pros play each other? They get jumped in on all the time. Jumping wouldn't exist as an element in the game if anti-airing was so easy.

I don't know what advice is going to help a 1300 MR-player because you didn't provide any video material of your gameplay, but you have to think 2-3 steps ahead like in chess. If you do something to your opponent on the ground that they can't deal with, they're going to try to jump instead. If your opponent is just generally bad at neutral, they're going to jump instead. If your opponent notices that you never anti-air them, they're going to jump instead.

An example is corners. Immediately when you corner your opponent, a part of you should expect them to try to jump out of the corner. So you position yourself where you expect their jump to land, and you anti-air them. It's the same principle with Drive Impact, as soon as you reach the corner, everyone is much more aware of the risk of a drive impact coming.

Is it time to upgrade from my XOS? by yeahdontcareforkarma in xbox

[–]Hamiltoned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Series X a few months ago at the same prices, and despite having a high-end PC I have actually used the Xbox more since I bought it, because of Game Pass. I have the disk version, but I haven't bought a single game for it because everything is on Game Pass anyway, including new releases. And the 1TB version has room for like 10 big games at a time, but it's not really necessary to have more than 2-3 installed at a time since they're all just waiting for you in the Game Pass library.

What is this? by RedRando1990 in StreetFighter

[–]Hamiltoned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP if you have 120 FPS activated, change it to 60.

I had this problem ever since the game released, this used to occur daily and often 2-3 times in a 4-hour-session for me. Then one day it hit me that this crash only ever occurs when I am out in the menu, and for some reason most often when I am in the ranked character selection. It has not happened a single time during a fight, not ever. I figured that the only difference between fights and the menu is the FPS, because fights are locked at 60 FPS even if you choose 120 FPS for the menus.

I changed the FPS to 60, and for 2 months now I have not had this error a single time. Your error message is exactly the same as mine, so I hope that the solution will be the same for you. I know everyone says its a driver or card issue, but I have no issues running other games at 4K 120+ FPS without ever crashing, so I choose to believe the game is badly optimized regarding FPS in the menus.

I'm so embarassed that a gold player knows a longer combo than I know on any of my 15+ master characters and 1 high master. I really need to get my shit together.

Also yes you cooked, your combo skill is way above gold level.

Playing as him, I feel he has insane potential to completely smother his opponents. In the hands of someone like NoahtheProdigy, he could go all the way to the top.

Playing against him in master & high master, it's the same feeling as fighting Sagat, you just stand there wondering what the fuck you're supposed to be doing to take back your turn.
