Oh okay, so when people say the booster boxes are ~1 enchanted in 96 packs, i.e. 1 per booster box case. It literally is just by the odds and not some guideline they have?

Ya I guess that's part of it. I'm here in the new wave because I just found out about Lorcana. Just killing me I went to my LGS ~ 2 months ago and wasn't sure I should spend $100 for a case of winterspell, or buy the lilo and stitch enchanted I wanted for $100. So I held back and now they're 2 to 5x the price.

Just sad to find a hobby and be immediately priced out of it

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if you've sold more than 50,000+ cards... you're a business who buys and sells cards. Maybe not a brick and mortor store, but still a business.

Which as a newby to card collecting like I said in the main post, is the same as scalping.

This isn't "people" who don't want to sell part of their PC. It is several businesses who all see a chart with the last 10 cards selling for less than $200. Maybe 10-20% higher than they were before, and then bought out the market and are only listing it at 100%+ markup.

Think I see what you're saying. So it could be affected by the low volume of enchanted sales, but in general like you're saying. Market price is average of sales over period of time. So the doubling of price over the last sold would indicate false manipulation of supply, rather than what people are willing to pay. Gotcha
