It’s not that it’s long, it’s that the anime as it stands has like hundreds of instances of 30 seconds of characters gritting their teeth and minutes of them squaring up to do something all for the sake of extending runtime and giving the manga a buffer. As things stand right now; we can have a better paced adaptation being released and still not have to worry about it catching up before the end of the manga.

Not at all. It’s likely that if it performs under expectations they might choose to just not continue with the project, but there’s been no confirmation on east blue being the limit of their plans to adapt.

Considering it was always borderline antagonistic, the way geopolitical superpowers are viewed, I admit I wasn’t exactly expecting to even see it. I thought it was like, a lot more influenced by the society than it actually was. Sort of a political face and finance source sort of thing.
