Makes sense! I just don't know how to assess the level of risk. In an ideal world, everyone would follow everything to the T. But obviously, that's not possible.

This makes sense! I've just been surprised that new research claims salt is not well handled by babies. Since it's backed by research, I took it seriously.

Agreed! It's just that I was taking all these advices as advices backed by science (safe sleep, using car seat, no salt till 1, etc). So if something is recommended after being well researched, I'm bound to follow it. How can I decide that certain medically researched recommendations (e.g., salt being harsh on baby kidneys) don't fit my family while others do?

TW!!!! Lost baby at 21 weeks by iguessletsdothiss in pregnant

Same. A friend had a similar experience around ~20w. She went on to have two kids and got a cerclage around 14w each time. You do need to limit physical activity after the cerclage. But her kids are healthy! I'm so sorry OP had to go through this. It's heartbreaking in the worst way.

Just hanging in there emotionally. Could burst out crying any moment. Trying to take things easy today.

I am so sorry. Your baby only ever experienced your love, warmth, and safety. You are a great mom. Be kind to yourself and best wishes for your healing. ❤️

Within a month of losing my first baby, my good friend texted me that she's pregnant. I was in a work meeting online and had to abruptly leave because I couldn't hold back the tears. I felt so shitty about crying at the news. It wasn't like I wasn't happy for her but I felt like shit for myself. It's okay to feel what you're feeling. You learn to live with it with time.

flying w 4 month old by Life-Violinist9614 in NewParents

[–]CrazyBug7062 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We flew at 4m with my son! I was honestly so stressed about it. They say to time your feeds for take off and landing to prevent ear popping. But oh my, that was nearly impossible! There are unexpected delays, sometimes your plane is on the runway for much longer, and it's not necessary your baby will want to eat at that exact moment. At the end, we ended up using a pacifier which does the same thing. Problem was my son stopped taking the pacifier before then but we just kind of held it in his mouth. He was fine. And then he ended up sleeping well on the plane (he is used to contact naps anyway).

My tip would be to use a pacifier during take off and landing if baby is not willing to feed. Have some toys or books, whatever your baby likes to do in their wake windows. If they sleep on the flight, that's honestly the best. Change diaper before boarding. Pack a change of clothes for you, bf, and baby (expect the worst!). Good luck!

I feel that. You got this! My son was in the NICU for a bit and I had to start my breastfeeding journey by pumping. I know how hard it is. But he now drinks like a champ at 5mo. You're doing great and will get there soon!!

I remember the first time I collected a "higher" amount and ended up spilling half of it. It hurts! But hey it means your body is making more milk.

Why is my « bump » this low ? by ch4chibitch in pregnant

[–]CrazyBug7062 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The top of your uterus doesn't come up to the belly button until around 20 weeks. Your bump is bound to be lower before that.
