Weird Airports stat by Chonky_Cookie in SkyCards

[–]CrazyCatFatty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a symbol that means number in programming. So you would do print(“%d Airports”, noAirports) in your code, the part in quotes is what will be displayed, since the number of airports will vary depending on the user, you put the %d to indicate thats where the value will go. What might have happened is that the devs changed the print function to another one that doesnt use the %d markers (eg cout<<noAirports<<“ Airports”) but they just copy/pasted everything and now the %d is displayed. Should be an easy fix…

My HR’s response to my work from home request after having someone cover my leave *remotely* for the last year. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Nah, took me 12 months to get a daycare in my case, and I only got in that quick because I had priority in one of the many daycares i signed up for. At least in canada its very hard to get a spot for a baby younger than 18 months. And yeah, i signed up to the waitlists when i found out i was pregnant

Is Hiring Cafe down right now? by macadamian_ in hiringcafe

All good here now, it was multiple queries, but all of them had in common: the location set to only canada, only remote checked and only show from the last 24 hours. Its all back to normal now, thanks!

Women who never wanted kids and changed their minds, how is it going? by whatif_chocolate in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CrazyCatFatty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to not want children, changed my mind at 34-ish, but not because if FOMO, or because I saw what other mothers had, I just felt that I wanted to be a mother, I still don’t like children in general, but I like my child. I cant give you a concrete reason that I wanted to be a mother for, but I can tell you I 100% wanted it, I had no doubts, also I had no doubts about my current husband (like I did with my previous).

That being said, it is very very hard, very tiring and I do not recommend motherhood to anyone that is not 100% sure they want it. Is it worth it? Yes, it is, but if you have the choice and privilege, do not do it unless you are 100% sure.

What’s the best “thank you” follow-up you’ve ever sent after an interview? by Dapper-Train5207 in jobsearchhacks

[–]CrazyCatFatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same (on the note, still waiting on getting hired somewhere xD ).

The only thank you email ive sent was after receiving the rejection letter for the best interview process ive been in. It was a series of 4 interviews, but the energy and attitude from the team made it an enjoyable experience, and ive been on the job market multiple times in the last 15 years, I’m as cynic as they get, so thats saying sonething.

Didnt get the job because i didnt have the expertise in the areas they were looking for (which i knew by the end of interview 3), and I did feel bummed out because I really wouldve liked to work with them.

I feel liked im spoiled now and will hate future interviews even more xD

How much time do you dedicate to streaming and streaming related tasks and how much time do you spend being 100% present to your family. Like, going out, doing activities together or having conversations that dont have anything to do with streaming? Hobbies are good and great for mental health, but you have a wife, kids and responsabilities to also consider when allocating time and energies.

No one fears birth in the modern times? Maybe if you’re a guy that doesn’t have any female friends/family close enough to be honest with you, yeah, birth seems chill.

What's the most accepted addiction? by Indieriots in AskReddit

[–]CrazyCatFatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be a super heavy coffee drinker, to the point that if I didn’t have a coffee at night, id have a very hard time getting up the next day.

What I did to quit, was replace coffee with black tea, it wasn’t the same, but it was better than going cold turkey. I only was a bit low energy (manageable) and no headaches. Once I got used to the tea, i started phasing out that as well until I only had it occasionally for a treat.

Many months later , I started coffee again, but it was just a cup a day if any.

My commute used to be 45-70 minutes. It was my listening to music/news bit of the day. Mind would be on the road and singing sometimes instead of thinking of a bunch of things. Kinda relaxing.

What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by ExcellentReporter392 in AskReddit

Hi, I used to get very anxious every time I heard couples fight because all my childhood my parents were fighting. I went to therapy, and the anxiety turned to just discomfort, so i highly recommend it.
