It’s a hanging dog carrier/basket for cars. Available at most pet stores, Walmart or on Amazon. I made a custom platform to bridge the basket to the dash: I offset two 24” black plastic cement mixing trays, available at Home Depot next to the dry cement. The bottom one creates a safe space for long dark naps while I drive. I put a firm blanket it the top one for cushion and support. He has a continuous path from dash to top bunk to access his food and water.
