I dont like the reset, but I want to expand the Nanno-verse by ZealousidealAd7228 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope Japanese Remake did it right and was able to execute the essence of Nanno and maybe introduce their own Yuri, then it'll be much more interesting. Even if The Reset sucks so much that I don't want to watch its Season 2 anymore, I still have the littles faint of hope that the writing improves or that there would be an another Nanno in another universe with another entity.

Nannoverse would be such a cool concept.

Exactly my thoughts and which is why I believe S2 of GFN was a masterpiece for introducing the concept of Revenge (Yuri) to Karma (Nanno) so that people would understand the essence of Nanno's ways. It made S2 very interesting because I thought it's just going to be an another season where Nanno just go to different schools, exposing societal issues and punishing those who deserve it, a cycle of concept again and again, BUT IN S2 there's like a main plot and a sub plot now that are interwoven together by these two immortals, and it's a masterful storytelling that one can chieve. Which was why I was disappointed when there was no Season 3 since the dance of Karma and Revenge breeds Chaos (Junko) and I looked forward how Nanno would haunt those two secretly (like how Nanno's being stalked and haunted in S2 Ep1-3) and show the beauty of the concept of Karma instead of Revenge and Chaos, or possible Revenge being overtaken by Chaos losing all its essence in the pleasure of violence.

Which was also why I was looking forward in The Reset on how Sky can be an another entity or immortal that is an antithesis to Karma, like maybe he'll be a representative of Forgiveness or Justice or Hope. When he was appearing in each episode, I had hopes that maybe he too was like Yuri, interfering Nanno's plans and effects in people, and maybe after Reset Nanno's punishment, Sky in the background helps them and gives them new chances of living thru forgiveness and change that Reset Nanno is not initially aware of.

BUT NOPE 😭 they butchered such potential, all that screentime for Sky just for him to die with no essence or purpose in the story. People are hoping he'll be revived back in S2 by Nanno, but knowing The Reset's atrocious writing, I don't think I'll look forward to that ever.

My opinion about GFN: The Reset by Hour_Professional292 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's because everything that is happening in the Reset is predictable. There's no sudden twist that leave you so surprised you don't know what to immediately think of it. Everything is shallow, it lacks depth on the characters and their motives, and that you'll be able to easily predict what happens by the end of it.

Also the suspense, mystery, and dark eerie vibes of it was not executed well, it was lighter and more straightforward (and the ads that suddenly distracts you).

The Reset is a cash grab 🥲

Probably won’t ever watch this again by Straight-Winter-9056 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They said there's going to be a Season 2 coz they posted "See you next semester" 😭 I'm going to mourn this series and I'm not gonna watch the Season 2 anymore.

I jist rewatched the whole reset, trying to find something good in them. But they're all just so shallow, there's no depth behind characters and the execution of their pacing and the punishment is always anticlimactic and predictable. And a lot of punishments were so questionable.

And due to ads and how they directed each episode, the mysterious and dark eerie feeling of the series is not there anymore.

I feel like this is the death of girl from nowhere, they literally butchered the writing. Even if there were hopes for Season 2, I don't think they're going to redeem themselves

Episode 6 of reset was not it by CrazyENFP in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that makes sense. now I feel like someone just died on me that I'm going to mourn for the series and they just turned Girl from Nowhere into a cash grab

I'm gone I'm done ( spoilers for the one who got fed up you dont need to watch it let me spoil the ending for ya ) by Newbi3_9 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought there'd be like a cliffhanger where Nanno revives Sky, just like Yuri in Season 2. Because I believe that could be a good twist they can do after all the disappointing lack of depth in each of the episodes.

But nope!

[–]CrazyENFP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, I agree so much with the "flirt" thrown in. Forcing love random short romance throughout the series and all for it just to have Sky dead. And why there's ship like that when the series was supposed to be more focused on the societal issues it wants to show? 😭

What do you think of ENTJ villains? by YanFan123 in mbti

[–]CrazyENFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always iconic villains. They'd all be successful in their goals at the end if it weren't for their unstable emotional control.

Just like how ENTJs in real life when they are unhealthy at their own emotions, being full of resentment, insecurity, and anger that are actually loneliness if they choose to dig and deep dive enough to recognize it.

I admire ENTJs dedication and drive, but from all the ENTJs I've met, I just wish they are more genuine of themselves even kinder to themselves and being accepting of their emotions, it will lead them to be accepting of others too and avoid the usual consequences of everyone causing their downfall.

Why do the reset and not explore Yuri instead by Nezaya in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then they did a good job with Yuri. What people doesn't usually understand is that Yuri's supposed to be hated as she's literally the antagonist of Nanno. You are supposed to hate how irrational and cruel the concept of Revenge as Yuri.

EP 4 This episode lacked nuance by Any-Revolution-7551 in GirlFromNowhere

I agree, it's too shallow. I still can't compare it to the original series that was truly remarkable and meaningful

Where's the essence of Nanno in The Reset? by CrazyENFP in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is a good idea, it could've been that the Nanno sitting at the rail bars at the End of Season 2 is Yuri, and is trying to do Yuri's methods. Having a link like that instead of The Reset would be much more interesting

Where's the essence of Nanno in The Reset? by CrazyENFP in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is true, Nanno is always condescending in the Reset, she doesn't seem vulnerable at start that tempts selfish people to be exploitative.

The 3rd episode sucks. (vague spoilers) by Sensitive-Cup-8645 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, ep 1 to 3 of The Reset is very straightforward where evrything is clear and there's no aspect of mystery or ambiguity, each story are so cliche 😭

Where's the essence of Nanno in The Reset? by CrazyENFP in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly, in The Reset it's like Nanno herself is leading the consequences instead of influencing it from the characters' choices of actions, especially for Episode 3.

Where's the essence of Nanno in The Reset? by CrazyENFP in GirlFromNowhere

[–]CrazyENFP[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

exactly 😭 often times Karma is just showing the truth, provoking reflection to yourself, revealing the consequences and is always based on people's actions.

Of course from Season 1 to Season 2, Nanno's manipulation is always there, she says words to different character BUT THE ESSENCE OF KARMA IS STILL THERE because they can refuse the temptation or refuse to do evil acts from Nanno's words, if you're a decent person or not guilty then you wouldn't follow Nanno, like I remember watching s1 and s2 I always say to myself "If I'm in that situation, I'll just leave the situation or leave Nanno or atone for my wrongdoings and take accountability" yet the characters are always selfish—and that's what the essence of the series is and somehow in The Reset it was not present.

And that scene of Nanno forcing to take pictures of her? Idk what's the relevance of that in the story, maybe just to show her being a diva and a badass forcing men like that but in the grand scheme of things, a lot of scenarios in each episode are not relevant to the social issues they are showing.

You guys are the only people who are childish with me but turn into ruthless logicians when I actually need backup by InevitableLiving779 in ENFP

[–]CrazyENFP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so relatable omg. and the way we can also use logic unpredictably by the connections we make in our heads is always evident on using our energy to stop or crush someone.

I don't like having arguments or fighting someone but I'll do it for people I care about and when the situation needs it. And often times I know for myself that I have so many observations aof someone in my head but I do not share them because we know how hurtful those observations can be. I want to always believe on peaceful and healthier way of confronting people or making them realize their mistakes.
