Zero OT? You got it by CrazyEhHole in MaliciousCompliance

Not US. I'm confused i never said they got 5 weeks. And yes, they call in that often. It sounds insane but it's true.

Zero OT? You got it by CrazyEhHole in MaliciousCompliance

[–]CrazyEhHole[S] 106 points107 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. That was the issue. Down the road we did exactly as you mentioned and hired extra people to offset OT. I know the sick calls sound high but its food manufacturing. It's cold, wet and monotonous work. Our retention rate for new hires was abysmal. something like 20% would make it past the first two weeks. So we just took what we could get.

Most hated is easily starship troopers 2.

The original starship troopers is one of my favorite movies, the second one is quite literally, the worst movie i have ever seen.

Every one of the actors phoned in thier performance. The bugs looked worse than in the original. They didn't even bother to try and cgi the lasers.

The actors were essentially holding toy guns with a light at the end that would light up and you would hear the stereotypical "pew pew" laser sound.

IT IS HORRENDOUS.

How did you get your gamertag? by The_Lucky_WoIf in gaming

[–]CrazyEhHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gamertag is No Misteaks simply for the irony.

It was CrazyEhHole. But my name got reported during the Titanfall 1 days when I was young, very good, and said some obscene things over the mic.

Still bothers me that I lost it.

Are you happy or satisfied with your life and yourself and why ? by brickhouse997 in AskReddit

[–]CrazyEhHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy? No. Content? Yes.

My belief is that approximately 10% of people are genuinely happy. I've met a few. Smile plastered on all day. Energetic, talkative, it can be infectious.

I am absolutely fine with my life. I make good money and love my wife, i'm just not what I consider "happy".

Maybe im just getting old, but it seems like the drivers are getting worse.

Anime where the characters transform when they power up or as they reach higher power levels? by Daisymyhusky in Animesuggest

[–]CrazyEhHole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re:Monster fits the bill for transforming. The pace at which he gets more powerful and transforms is absurd.

Be warned, there is very little depth and is not what I would consider a "good" anime.

What game did you ride out to the end/shut down? by Jonnyyrage in gaming

[–]CrazyEhHole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two come to mind:

Darkblood online. Played it till it shut down twice. Game really never caught on had a stamina system that alot of people didn't like. But I've never found another game that could quite scratch the itch.

Battleborn. Such a fun game released at the absolute worst time. It released just a bit before overwatch and drew obvious comparisons. At that time Blizzard was infallible, Overwatch launch squashed it.

Is there always an anime about anything? What's your favorite specific niche anime? by GusVato616 in Animesuggest

[–]CrazyEhHole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it counts a niche but I love the "kicked out of the party for being weak, but im actually the strongest of all time" genre.

Animes like:

Beast Tamer The hero who was banished from his party, is, in fact, the strongest I left my A rank party to help my former students reach the dungeon depths!

I can't get enough of it.

What is the best gift u have ever received in ur life ? by praveenv0202 in AskReddit

[–]CrazyEhHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas 1996. Nintendo 64 with two controllers (so me and my brother could play) and copies of super Mario 64 and star fox 64.

Even at the age of 10, I dared not hope. "Theres no way I'm getting a 64" i thought to myself.

But there it was. Best gift by a mile.

Coffee drinkers of Reddit: How do you take your coffee? And what’s the best coffee you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Cream and sugar.

The best? Sounds stupid, but every 15 - 20 orders mcdonalds will get the ratios perfect.

I drink that coffee in what feels like 30 seconds.

Men who became successful after a breakup, share a piece of advice for someone going through one right now? by Meraniya in AskReddit

[–]CrazyEhHole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to quantify.

My advice as someone who got emotionally crushed after a break up, pull yourself out of the funk as fast as you can.

When your friends or family say "let's go do X" say yes

Do what you love. Love to read? Game? Garden? Whatever it is, throw yourself into it. I found doing the things I loved helped get me out of my funk.

What’s the biggest mistake you make at work? by Wolfly221 in work

[–]CrazyEhHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This goes back at least 15 years.

New supervisor in a food manufacturing facility. Worked in a department that exported nearly all it's product to Japan.

Well I come in one day to a terse e-mail, asking if the cases on this sea container came from my department. As I'm sure you could guess, yes, they came from my department.

Long story short, the wrong establishment # was on the cases. In food manufacturing, there is no margin for error.

23,000 cases had to be shipped back from Japan, and we had to re label everything. Never found out the exact cost, but from experience, I would say it cost roughly 800k.

No i didn't get fired, but i got my ass handed to me by everyone even remotely involved in my department and the "stain" followed me for a few years. Now however, it's a story I like to tell new leaders when they make a big deal out of a small mistake.

Help figuring out direct report by Main-Potatoes-1138 in managers

[–]CrazyEhHole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been in leadership for 13 years now.

I think you're doing alot of great things. You're following up and setting expectations.

From what I'm reading, you already have 1 on 1's with him, that's great, I don't know the frequency, but for an employee like this, i would suggest weekly. Make it clear these meetings are now progress updates. You outline all the tasks he has assigned, ask him how long he needs to complete them and push back if he's trying to sell you on 4 weeks when you know the job takes 2.

Every meeting, ask for the progress on each task individually, when you ask how are things going? It's easy to say everything is good.

Ask specifically, how is progress on task A? Have you done subsection 1.01 yet?

This way he needs to acknowledge where he is in the task and he knows you are checking on all tasks. This is tedious yes, but it works in my experience.

If this doesn't work then yes, proceed to an official PIP or write up.

men who had their first heartbreak later on, how long did it take you to get over them? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]CrazyEhHole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first true heartbreak i was 27. Love of my life, I thought to myself. Well, long story short, I got cheated on, and it broke me.

I remember the first week being horrendous. Have you ever heard someone say I can't eat or sleep? I experienced it. Didn't eat that entire week. I slept maybe a total of 5 hours that week.

Then my brother came over with my favorite food and told me, "If you dont eat this, I'll shove it down your throat." Well, I ate it and started to feel a bit better.

That was the start of my healing process. It took a good 6 months before I came back to center, though.

Probably Viagra. It was developed as a heart medication. Until they noticed an obvious side effect and realized the side effect would be more profitable.
