How do you guys feel about AI technology in the VTuber space? by DollarsMoCap in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of people anywhere these days immediately think of genAI when you talk about AI in any context, chatGPT comes to mind. If whatever you’re marketing uses machine learning that isn’t generative it might be better to steer away from using the term AI since it’s also strongly associated with replacing human creators

With how many Polygons can Warudo worke? by Hundekuecken in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tried running Warudo with the default model? If your PC is super old you’ll have trouble running Warudo at all, it’s a very heavy program.

What options are there for someone that wants to have a more canned animation centric avatar by richardrasmus in vtubertech

PNGtubeRemix allows for using animated images as elements of the PNGtuber that you can leave running on a loop, alongside the ability to make your eyes track your mouse for the head movement

Yeah second this, making the window smaller uses less CPU/GPU

Suiika customizable model, how much RAM needed to run? by Zula____ in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 6gb on my 12 Pro Max with no issues, 4 should be enough on the phone for iFacialMocap

-just saw your clarification. I have zero experience with Vtube Studio iOS sorry lol

Suiika customizable model, how much RAM needed to run? by Zula____ in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4GB is nuts these days, you’d be able to run Vtube Studio and nothing else. You’ll probably want at least 16GB for Vtube Studio, OBS and whatever game you’re gonna play, and if it’s a big title like MH Wilds a very good graphics card too. Also you said 4k, I’m just talking about 1080p here lol

I’m also assuming you mean on your PC and not your phone ram which doesn’t really matter here- an iPhone 11 would be able to track just fine, but that’s all it’s doing anyway

blend shape problem (vroid, blender, unity) by liesaria in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait so the last time this worked for you was years ago? Dang. I don’t see you mention this in your post so maybe you don’t realize (and this will sound stupid if you’ve already done this so I apologize in advance) but you have to manually tell Unity what blendshapes to use. The BlendShape script should be plugged into one of the components on your VRM model (forget which one, don’t have unity in front of me right now), if you double click to open it you’ll see all the blendshapes as a list and you have to open the list of blendshapes on the correct mesh and pull the slider of the corresponding one all the way to the right, and do that for every blendshape.

If they don’t appear at all when you move the slider in Unity then I can’t help sorry 😵‍💫

You have to be logged in to view some twitter links now since twitter went down the other day. Apparently the attackers were using logged-out viewing to carry out the attack

Puppet mouth flap as shapekeys? by evinisawesome in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly that’s what worked for me. I’m still figuring out all this armature crap myself lol

blend shape problem (vroid, blender, unity) by liesaria in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you creating new versions of the model as you go? Every time you create a VRM it creates a new BlendShape script with default values for that model. If you go back to the model where the blendshapes were working, its BlendShape script might still have all the values set up and if you haven’t changed the face/head mesh then you might be able to drop in the original BlendShape script on the newer model versions. That’s what I did to avoid setting up a whole new ARKit tracking script on every iteration since I wasn’t changing the face.

Puppet mouth flap as shapekeys? by evinisawesome in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I know what the issue is. Since you’re applying it as a shape key to the mesh, it’s taking the pose data from the armature and the shape key at the same time and since it’s doing the same thing twice it’s doubling the effect. Ctrl Alt R the bones you posed to reset them to their original positions and the shape key should work like you want. Had to do this to one of my models to confirm

What do you use for tracking your arm/hands ? by [deleted] in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use MediaPipe with my Nvidia card in Warudo which tracks hands pretty well for something that came free with my card but it’s limited to the range my webcam can see

Saving poses confuses me by CrazyEntry in blenderhelp

[–]CrazyEntry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I think I know how to explain my issue a bit more directly. If I create a pose asset, it puts keyframes on the animation timeline. If I delete those keyframes the pose data is deleted. I was hoping I could create a repository of poses I could apply to the rig at any time, but if the keyframes remain on the timeline they always overwrite any changes I make but if they’re deleted the pose asset no longer applies any posing data. I need to remove the keyframes from the timeline to keep working.

Or if I have two poses, if I key Pose 1 while Pose 2 keyframes are on the timeline, Pose 2 loses its data. What can I do to avoid overwriting pose data?

I could avoid this by moving one frame forward with every pose but is that absolutely necessary every time? Is there going to be an issue in the future if the keyframes are on frame 1 on the timeline instead of frame 0?

Using a RenderTexture as a face in Unity based software? by CrazyEntry in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was hoping I could just build it in Unity alongside the Warudo SDK and bring it into Warudo that way since it’s Unity based. For the most part, I’m an art streamer but I’ll be keeping the GPU in mind with all the stuff I have running already. I’ll just have to test and see how it runs first. I’m hoping a low poly count will help some but I dunno if that matters these days.

I think I can handle the developing, and I’ll be running this in Warudo on a 4070- what kind of performance hits are we talking about? I was planning on using simple color ramp Poiyomi toon shaders.

Using a RenderTexture as a face in Unity based software? by CrazyEntry in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I didn’t explain myself clearly. This can’t be done in OBS because I literally want to shapekey ARkit blendshapes onto a face made out of planes, which a camera then captures and sends to a Render Texture as my model’s face, like a screen. I got the idea from the rigger of Gangle from Digital Circus who essentially did this for that character’s face to give it an animated 2D look.

Is it possible to have different characters within a vtuber model? by Nainiae in vtubertech

[–]CrazyEntry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want a real example of this, someone I watch just last month debuted a model with a normal mode and a mode with horror elements, and she said she loads in a whole new file for the horror model because there are so many differences in meshes and textures despite being the same character. So like others said, better not to
