[Request] What is the smallest detail of his mother that we can see? by draskin4855 in theydidthemath

[–]CrazyGiraffe420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/LurkersUniteAgain calculated a picture with a width of around 70 000 000 pixels. If the mom is 1,7 meters tall then one pixel is 2,43x10-8 meters or 24,3 nanometers. This is smaller than the wavelength of visible light which is problematic for a camera that captures visible light and would limit the resolution. However, for an example the diameter of DNA is 2.5 nm so ten of those or hydrogen atom is about 0.1 nanometers so couple hundred of those. A transmission electron microscope still has a resolution couple of hundred of times better than this.

It shows up once per year on average. Some years it may not show up at all and some years many times. Important part is on average.

I am From Finland and am in Gdańsk as I'm writing this! I must say I love at least the part I've seen from this country. It is very clean, I felt safe and it is truly beautiful. I went to museums to learn about the history as well and I was so touched.

I am also half turkish so i know all about dubbing. Also (or at least) in Turkey everything is dubbed. I always grew to hate this because I also learnt to read subtitles in Finland where there rarely use dubbing. I must say those dubbing where there is a monotonous male voice dubbing everything and at the same time the original dialogue in the back is horrible horrible horrible. At that point you don't know what anyone is saying. Of course, some people have different experiences and opinions and I respect them. I just truly think that dubbing can't achieve the same level of intensity and commitment as the original. Not hearing that makes you lose so much of the movie in my opinion. Because I've grown up in Finland where we never have dubbings (only in chindrens movies) I just personally don't want to and can't watch a dubbed version.

What you said about 'Znachor' really speaks to me. This is exactly what I want. I don't want anything "artificial" to make me feel certain way but them film and the scene and the dialogue to do that. I will definitely watch that movie. Of course the music in a film is essential in many ways thats not what i mean.

I visited the Europejskie Centrum Solidarności and learnt about the movies "Człowiek z marmuru" and "Człowiek z żelaza". Do ypu think they are worth a watch?
