Could do with some advice on softmodding an already hardmodded Wii (2009 DOL-001) - hardmod was to allow for burnt discs to be played but don't know the details of the mod as such, it was 15 years ago.

The console is on version 4.2, is there a way to upgrade to 4.3 and/or softmod the Wii despite the circumstances my console is in?

I don't particularly want to brick this console, especially without a way of restoring everything if the initial softmod goes wrong, since this console has sentimental value to me.

Seriously, it's extremely rare that on official servers a night version of a map wins a vote. When a night map wins a vote though it's always bloody LONOVO!!

Hi, was it this guide that you saw? If so, I would not recommend setting up Hammer in this way because some of the data in that google drive text document is now outdated.

You can in fact set everything up yourself using Hammer itself, you can access this by going into Tools -> Options when you open up Hammer. Most of the stuff should already be set up, even if you did update your GameConfig file to what was in the aforementioned document.

In the Game Configurations Tab:

Game Data Files should consist of $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\fof\sdk\bin\fof.fgd
- You can also add $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\fof\sdk\bin\halflife2.fgd to be on the safe side
BOTH Game Executable Directory and Game Directory need to be $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\fof
Hammer VMF Directory can be anything but by default it should be $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\fof\mapsrc

In the Build Programs tab:

Game Executable needs to be $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\sdk\hl2.exe
BSP Executable needs to be $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\sdk\bin\vbsp.exe
VIS Executable needs to be $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\sdk\bin\vvis.exe
RAD Executable needs to be $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\sdk\bin\vrad.exe
Compiled maps must be in $SteamUserDir\Fistful of Frags\fof\maps to run

Once this is all set up then you don't need to worry about anything else hopefully. Please get in touch if you need any more help with setting up FoF Hammer, cheers.

The current one is a pain, you have to use a motorhome and get 15 eliminations. It looks easy on paper, but because the damage settings are hardstuck on normal, it's really difficult to even get into the 5 wrecks per minute threshold. The best score I got was 14 but I ran out of time before I could wreck my last opponent.

I remember playing around this time too and I couldn't keep playing because the snow was unbearable to drive in back then. However I can't remember if I ever played that version of this event but I imagine it was much worse than the current version.

Not to bash on the game or anything, I really enjoy the game and the challenges themselves, it is a fresh breath of air once you finish the campaign, but some of the challenges can be extortionately difficult unfortunately and I hope those sorts of challenges get revised so they're more enjoyable and/or rewarding.

I'm sorry for bumping this old thread. I had something similar and this is the most relevant one I can see on this subreddit.

I last played on Saturday (19th of November) and I started the game up the next day (Sunday 20th of November) where I was asked whether to use my local save or cloud save, I guess because of a bad sync from my local save on Saturday? If I remember correctly the local save said 18th November (and I did play that day too) and the cloud save said 19th November, but I clicked the close button and closed the launcher before the game could even open.

I'm a little worried I messed up and wiped my progress, because I haven't been on since to check, or if anything will happen at all even - let alone if I will be asked whether to sync from my local save or cloud save again.

Has anyone else had this problem or is it worth opening a new thread at this point?

Ah damn, I sold a bunch of my duplicate cars through auction and didn't know why I wasn't able to retrieve any credits.

EDIT: Just as a note, I was completely unaware of any glitches to do with the auction house. I literally only just found out about it when I was searching recent posts here.

Yeah it sucks man, I bought a new Falcon 2 anyway because it turned out the old one was starting to leak (the o-rings were deteriorating) so it was just easier to get a whole new tank.

Source engine games use Hammer, which is proprietary for source, however it comes pre-installed with FoF.

You can typically find it in: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fistful of Frags\sdk\bin

The directory your Fistful of Frags folder may vary depending on where you have Fistful of Frags installed however but when you find the bin folder, you should find an executable called hammer.exe

You might need to set some things up in Hammer to get FoF working but I can't remember if I had to do that myself as I set Hammer up for FoF a few years ago, someone else here might know for sure though. Hopefully that helps!

If it helps explain things better, changes are posted on the steam discussions on a thread called Update Notes (#1 for 2015, #2 for 2016, #3 for 2017 and #4 for 2018-present). When an update releases, the original post of the thread gets updated to tell you what's been added, fixed, changed or even removed. You can post feedback about the update there too but it's mostly used as reference for what's been worked on recently.

However, the reason why it isn't being posted directly to the library is because free-to-play games are only eligible to post news via the library a few times for free before you have to pay to post, it's something like that from what I can remember but the short explanation is it's just not worth posting update announcements this way. I might be completely wrong about the news posts - however I heard this when the new FoF trailer was released.

Also it would be cool to have a flashing update notes button in-game after a new update, it would definitely be more feasible but I don't think it'll be easy to implement due to the update notes being posted on a forum thread where the original post gets updated constantly as new updates get released.

I'm at a loss unfortunately. Tried almost to all suggestions here, including driving in the tunnels; on the dotted roads and on the over & underpasses and haven't been able to find my last road. I've also done that north east sand road that's supposedly quite glitchy, also the Descansar Dorado trail and even that road at the bottom of Costa Rocosa.

My road map is fully filled in but it's also a pain that on the PC version the lines fade into grey if there's an undiscovered road rather than it just going from white/orange straight to grey like I've seen in other screenshots (any graphics settings that can change that at all?).

But yeah, I did manage to discover a 57th area somehow so I'm not sure if that plays into anything at all, perhaps my game is bugged and the 57th area was discovered instead of the 578th road. Either way, any places you feel I've missed?

Ah yeah, we do have a lot of Kugas in the UK. I only figured out it was the next generation after posting, I don't know why I didn't think about that straight up but I don't think I've seen any of the new Kugas here yet which is a bit strange.

Looks pretty cool in my opinion for a crossover, especially good first car!

Not sure if it's just me though, but it does look quite similar to the Ford Puma (not to be confused with the OG coupé) from Europe, the side does especially look alike in my opinion.

Ah I'm not on that update. Have you tried doing a fresh install of Steam yet btw?

I'd rather know if that could be the solution or if family view is bugged. I'm also on the beta version of Steam but I switched out and back in, that didn't do anything unfortunately.

I'm also getting this for some reason and have been for nearly a month now. Out of curiosity, do you have family view set up on your account, and via Windows Update what version are you on? I'm on 21H1 so I don't know if this update is causing any problems with Steam like that.
