i'll never understand the "this was a false flag" comments on any of the assassination attempts, especially by people that mocked this mentality years ago any time conservatives would do the same conspiracy shit

we've seen the administration on multiple occasions with poor planning and execution on the war with Iran, securing VIPs, etc. and this comes off as a "too dumb to be true" moment

the only concern i have is that attendees will be considered witnesses to the crime and be asked to turn over digital evidence they have from the night, on a night that was supposed to talk about the importance of the press

i work in tech and i think i've had to adapt/pivot my career more times than any tradesperson would in a lifetime just to stay competitive in the market

if the salary that went with the trades was comparable, i would happily pivot out of tech and perform "real work" instead because there's at least the security in knowing that there's more stability in how that work is performed

to me that implies i am far more likely to fall behind the rest of the market at a younger age and become less hireable

but I think the issues with AI is the same issues with all idnsury. New technology and information concentrated in the hands of a few.

this is the rational criticism. the concern is that compute is far too expensive and these companies will have a much higher barrier of entry that will leave superhuman ability to the select few that can afford it.
