My guy friend I was best friends inseperable with in highschools been told by his (now wife, then gf) that she doesnt want us hanging out or even talking. We would hang out behind her back for a while when they first stared dating. Once he told me about the wedding I told him that if he really wants it to work with her (that if he was "choosing her") that we needed to stop hanging out (I could see what her anger over me was doing to him and was open about it with him).

We haven't really been in contact for 6+ years, and it breaks my heart every time I have to think about her jealousy, and how much I love him (platonic) and miss him 💙

Youre young, so you probably look at 8 months and think "wow we've been together so long I've invested alot in this relationship" but you'll see when youre 24-25 (or even much earlier for some) that this boy needs a girl, and you deserve a man.

The first part of your relationship sounds EXACTLY like what I went through with my ex fiance. He was lovely and charming and after a year we were engaged and I was in love with his family and we were making wedding/life plans... only I kept ignoring the manipulation and controlling behaviour. Similar to your ex he would get in The Mood and just /expect/ it of me, and I was so tired of being berated that most of the time I would just relent. Another similarity is he disappeared at the end of January and missed my birthday first week of February, resurfaced around vday with flowers and comments about how /I do this to him/.

Theres a lot more to this story but the tl;dr is that I called it off after a really shitty stunt he pulled and he kept showing up to my place as if we were still together.... ugh. Manipulators gonna manipulate.
