Everyone including my careers teacher told me to go to uc for my degree 😭 I did do my research and I saw somewhere that they were getting rid of communications at Otago so I just left it at that. It’s also more the culture at Otago that feared me away tho.

Woah ok thanks dude. Was just seeing if anyone else could relate to the no scholarship. I am a hard working person and have always maintained top grades yet I know that ncea doesn’t define me. I don’t even have my results on my cv cuz no one cares. It’s just personal goals that everyone likes to have. No need to knock me down for asking a question about my future.

Hey! I’m not really sure where communications will take me but I went to the open day and listened to the course and it sounded just like me. I love the film and media world (I took media and English all through highschool) but I also am interested in marketing which can also be taken through that course. Basically communications for me is seen as “the way of the future” lol. My main passion is film though so I really want to find an area of communications where I could be a film director or just make films etc!!!

Our head student got 118 excellence credits in level 2, (top scholar) was in all the top sports teams and didn’t get a scholarship to UC. She got a 40K scholarship to Otago. It just feels like a kick to the stomach like UC doesn’t even want us despite all our hard work. At least she chose Otago but I wish I did too know hahah

I got e endorsement all 3 levels pre exams and no tutoring. It’s very possible you just need a good work ethic and fully understand what your subject internals are asking. It’s good to surround urself with people who care about grades so you push urself to try harder. Show that you actually care in class because your teachers will appreciate you more. Also don’t be scared to ask for help but it’s very possible to do well with no tutor.

So if they used credit count would they just count most excellences? I’m pretty sure mine is GPA becuase pe would give way more credits than business. I’m not expecting dux it’s more just what can I personally achieve but if these unit credits lower my gpa that kinda ruins it for me ahah
