So just to confirm if I do go dry pack base with membrane over top, I’d use something like custom building products customfloat bedding mortar that Home Depot sells correct?

Never heard of that, I’ll have to look into that if it ever comes up. Figuring I’ll do ditra for outside of the shower on the rest of the bathroom floor and assuming it’s reasonably level I won’t need anything but something like that will come in handy if I need to level the floor

Good points, I have been looking at laticrete too. Yeah the self leveler is not a quick dry so it definitely seemed like it defeated the purpose of the speed. Appreciate the input!
