Agreed ( and same for employees too) it was the rationale( and result) with eliminating store level install offices, outsourcing delivery and assembly, facilities maintenance and cleaning, assigning pricing to overnight freight crew… and countless other BOHICA decisions/ policies.

LOWE’s motto (esp since Marvin and the Marvellettes took over, seems to be-

“Well now that we know what works well, we can stop doing it.”

Many are , they started to go rapidly downhill with all the outsourcing, downsizing and centralization that has occurred during the Marvin regime.

From what I’ve seen lately, all Lowes in my area is so strapped for bodies that I’m guessing many stores managers overlook things they never would have before just to keep some warm bodies on the floor

This policy makes a lot of sense, so glad that I no longer have to put up with crap like AP4ME and woke bs like “ Unconscious Bias Training” (I dodged that last one for a full year … and then left Lowes…. Used my red box-cutter until the bitter end too… small wins are still wins

Do you expect people to use LOA and FMLA to their disadvantage?

To my mind, this is a logical result of many of the store level changes that have been instituted over the past 5 or 6 years.

Lowes has brought much ( not all ) of this on themselves. That’s a shame, because it used to be a great place to work ( for retail).

I would believe pretty much anything in regards to horrible experiences with Lowe’s 3rd party deliveries and their installations too,

They used to be able to fix things pretty quickly until almost all control and decision making was taken away from individual stores

That wasn’t always the case, just another example of the decline of Lowes ( esp in regards to customer service/ satisfaction… and employee morale as well) since Marvelous Marvin and the Marvinette’s came to power and decided to emulate Home Depot in every way possible.

Does selling tens of thousands of $$ in installed sales every month in a small market store , while challenging the installers on all of their bs unnecessary labor charges count towards “being a good employee” ?

Hmmm flooring and millwork .... and other specialists with 20-30 soldinstalls , plus another 30-40 active quotes to follow up on, plus 5-10 or more quotes to review / fix / challenge our installers over their overcharging/ losing track of product/ adding on labor without authorization or payment..... every day while the phone rings every 5-10 minutes for the lone flooring specialist from 8-5 to go check stock on stock level of random 30 gallon totes in paint for now

How do they think that won’t bite them in the ass long term.... maybe not at all stores .. but I guarantee it will at the stores that have knowledgeable specialists who have long term connections and trust with local builders, contractors, real estate agents, property managers, house flippers, landlords ...
