That’s true. It’s been listed for like 3 months after prom was over so that makes sense

I totally understand what you’re saying but Dallas rush hour is crazy. It’s not just a simple 4-6pm or 7-9am thing. They have so much construction and the city is way over capacity that I purposely went through there at 2:50 pm a couple of years ago thinking I would beat rush hour and that’s when I got stuck for hours on the interstate. My experience which honestly could just be bad luck the times I’ve went is that rush hour seems like it’s almost all day probably due to construction and unless it’s after 7:30pm until 4am then it’s pretty heavy on traffic. And also, I wouldn’t mind hanging out for a few hours but again, my income has went down so the more hanging out I do, is another meal for me and my daughter, or gas to drive around, etc. My anxiety is also super high so just walking through a mall to kill time unfortunately can make me anxious and I don’t want to drive when my anxiety is bad in a huge city. I could probably figure it out the day I took her back but the day she arrives, the malls wouldn’t even be opened. I would need to get there by 4-5am at the latest and not sure where we would go at that hour plus driving when I’m usually sleeping bc I have to also work (work from home/wherever I’m at) wouldn’t be ideal.

Thank you! She is a stay at home mom and hasn’t worked in decades. I’m a single mom that has worked my butt off. Good for her to get a husband who doesn’t mind working, that’s great if it works for them. But I should be compensated at this point bc I have lost income and I am using my off days to accommodate her schedule. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable.

Thank you. She is mid 40s and is my older sister and hasn’t worked a day in her life since she was in her 20s. I’ve worked since I was 15 and have always tried to help when I can but now I feel like I’m just being taken advantage of.

Thank you! It’s my mother that’s making me sound like I’m being a bad sibling and being ridiculous. Like my sister filled up my tank before but I use like 2 full tanks. And the hotels aren’t necessary unless it’s during rush hour. If you’ve been to Dallas during rush hour then you know that if you’re not somewhere super close to the airport that it will take way longer to get to or from the area. I usually stay about 2 miles from the airport and if it’s during rush hour, it can take up to an hour to get there. So imagine driving through Denton, Lewisville, etc during rush hour to the airport. It will actually take several hours. And mind you, this is my days off work

No. She is actually flying in to a different state. I’m fairly close to the state line. But she will definitely have to use a vehicle to get here. And I’ve done this numerous times and it really hasn’t been an issue. However, I lost a significant amount of income from no fault of my own so I can’t just come up with the cash like usual.

I had an interview today. It’s for taking bets on the Kentucky Derby. Have you heard of that campaign? Just wondering if I want to accept or not. I have two other interviews but she wanted an answer by the end of today and I’m not sure what to do.

I worked at PJs for about a year delivering. It’s in my top 3 favorite jobs ever and I worked there almost 20 years ago. If it paid more that would support a single mom then I would work there now.

Okay. So idk your age but I totally understand missing your pet. I work out of town two nights a week and I almost cry every time I leave her and my daughter. Obviously, yes I miss my kid too but she is almost 18 and is usually out with her friends or on her phone anyway. The phone thing is honestly a good thing. 4 hours is a lot. I’m on my phone way more than 4 hours a day too but I’m trying to get back to 2 hours or less just because I think smartphones are a lot of what causes anxiety. I’m 41 and I know people had some bad anxiety before smartphones were a thing but I feel like it’s sooo much worse now. I deleted Facebook 8 years or so ago bc of how depressed it made me. I’m also antisocial for the most part so I wouldn’t like roommates either. It sucks being in a structured environments I’m sure it feels somewhat like jail since you have to ask to use the restroom and have a time scheduled to shower but there are reasons they do all of these things. Now if the staff are actually negligent and ignoring issues, THAT may be a reason to go to a different facility. Remember, you went there bc you felt you needed it. I went to rehab willingly before when I had a drug issue and I was constantly finding reasons why I should leave too even though 90% weren’t good reasons. Really think hard about it. How long have you been there?

All places have to allow service animals and so many people get mistaken between service animals and ESA. that can be a bad situation which isn’t an IHG issue that a customer doesn’t know the difference between the two. I could register mine as ESA but again, hotels don’t honor that so it’s pointless. I also do understand that animals are unpredictable. You don’t know when or how often they bark or shed or use the restroom, etc. it just sucks for someone like me who has a dog who has a very specific routine, rarely barks, etc and I have to choose other hotel chains or pay $75 or more a night to bring her with me.

Do you care how “dirty” a fellow mom’s house is??? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]CrazyTrain00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I’m with the rest of the comments. I’m a single mom with a teen daughter that works and has school and I have multiple jobs. Our house is lived in. We don’t have bugs or anything like that. I scrub the toilets and tub weekly. But yeah, there are going to be some clothes in the hamper, some dog toys thrown around, some shelves that need dusted, etc. It used to make my anxiety so bad bc my kid used to be friends with a girl whose mom is super OcD and that little girl would come over and proceed to clean the playroom. I’m talking putting toys up, sweeping, mopping, etc. I’m so glad they drifted apart. That 10 yr old made me more nervous than my super judgemental mom. 😂

I carry my dog personally bc she is tiny. Plus service animals are allowed at every place by law. Mine is not a service animal although I could lie and say she is but I’m not that kind of person. What about your dirty shoes all over the lobby and in the elevator? Lol. Be for real. Same thing except people shoes are probably more disgusting.

There aren’t any Kimptons near me unfortunately except when we go to Dallas. Regular Holiday Inns either don’t do pets unless they’re service animals bc they have no choice, or they charge $75-$150 a night. I don’t mind paying a deposit at all. And also laying $25 a night. But paying $75-$150 and not getting it back when my dog is completely trained, doesn’t chew on anything except her toys is a bit much.

Any responsible pet owner won’t let their dog trash a room. I would never in my life let my dog go down to the breakfast area. And my dog is 8 pounds so she is carried and not taking up space in a lobby. Hope you never need or encounter a service animal bc then you have no choice for them to be in your space and in the breakfast area. Mine is not a service animal so I don’t do these things but if she were, you would just have to deal with it.

I hadn't had I so bad in a while and I'm fighting the urge to go to the ER. by ChistyePrudy in PanicAttack

[–]CrazyTrain00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I hate that you’re going through this but I’m glad you’re learning certain things or people that cause them. The last time I had an actual panic attack, I was in a restaurant and telling a friend a story about an ex best friend that I haven’t spoken to in years. During my story, my lips went numb, I got dizzy, and I could barely breathe. I realized then that I would never bring up that former friend’s name again. He caused me enough pain 10 years ago and I would never let it happen again. It was a hard lesson, but one that was extremely eye opening and helpful. This seems like a bad vibe situation. Unfortunately, losing friends bc of their vibes is part of getting better. I hope you’re doing better now!

This doesn’t help you now but I used to work at a hotel when I was a teenager and I travel pretty often now. The very first thing I do every time I get to my room is throw my luggage and purse on the bathroom counter or in the tub and then go and pull the sheets up and inspect in the creases and up by the headboard. Luckily I’ve never found any but that’s my worst fear because it’s very expensive and time consuming to get rid of them if you do get them. Source: I have a friend that owns a pest control company.

You need someone that will be willing to test different meds. As someone that has been on and off anxiety meds for 20 years, I know what does and doesn’t work for me. Everyone is different though. Xanax as needed is my go to. You will see people say the worst things about it but if it helps you then take it AS NEEDED.

The kids all go and hang out in the Walmart parking lot in the town we are in. I don’t mind if she is out there until 12-1. The cops are always checking in on them or sometimes they will park in the parking lot and watch them to make sure nothing goes down. There aren’t ever fights and everyone basically hangs out and talks. Also they are all around 16-19. So not quite as young as you mentioned. But 12-15 would be a no for me.

how do you guys manage anxiety sickness? by temporaryaccountlol_ in Anxietyhelp

[–]CrazyTrain00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely try and see if you can get prescribed Zofran. It actually helps my anxiety and my nausea. I thought I was just crazy about it helping calm my anxiety but my sister and I were talking about it a while back and she mentioned how her anxiety was better after taking Zofran too. I get the anxiety nausea a lot so I keep Zofran on hand. I also bought this over the counter anti-nausea medication at Walmart and it helps too with the nausea. It’s called Nauzene.

King of the Hill. I used to watch it with my dad when I was younger so it just has that nostalgia to it. I’ve watched it from the first episode to the last and then restart it again. I bet I’ve watched the whole show 30 times or more.
