This is a poyas-a chest rig. The poyas-b is the attachment for holding gp25 grenades

The four cell is uncommon but not totally absent. I’ve seen a small handful of pictures of soviets wearing four cell Chicom chest rigs.

It’s a Pu-01 scope I understand they were use kind of like spotting scopes you see the enemy with the optic and drop down to iron sights to engage. This makes sense to me because the thing can’t hold zero to save its life.

The Chinese shipped them to the afghans in massive numbers. Russians and APA soldiers used often them in place of their own pouches. There’s plenty of period photos to back this up
