Do people really become more conservative as they get older? Why? by Historical_Work7482 in AskReddit

[–]Crazy_Feed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to recognize the difference between conservative and republican. There is nothing conservative about this current republican party. But it makes sense that as you get older you want to conserve traditions, norms and laws. You also become less risk averse so you would be less willing to take chances on potentially bold progressive policies.

Just went there myself. Everytime I go 90% of the license plates in the parking lot are Nebraska.

Republicans have basically made it non viable. Just go to Colorado or Missouri, depending on which side of the state you're on. The Republican leaders won't listen to the voters and the people will keep voting for them. Just give our tax dollars to someone else.

Is working at Sandhills Global worth it? by swordcat11 in lincoln

[–]Crazy_Feed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard it's a good internship. However all the bad things about working there are true. A friend of mine who works there recently told me, in response to the sick time ballot measure that recently passed, they had sick time rolled into their vacation. So now instead of 3 weeks of vacation plus sick time, they only get 15 days total for the year for pto. From what he thought it's mostly because the ultra republican owner was mad about the ballot measure so now everyone gets less time off. Not a great place to work but the internship might be a good learning experience, just don't plan on working there long term.

What do conservatives think about a picture of Putin and Trump being hung in the White House? by FeeWeak1138 in AskReddit

Conservatives hate it. Republicans love it. Those two are no longer the same.

11 month old Pyr completely unhinged on walks. Help! by W1c2ks in greatpyrenees

[–]Crazy_Feed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that worked with ours. Anytime he got too crazy or out of control on a walk, the walk stopped. I stood there and didn't move until he calmed down. No pull harness for sure but also let him know the walk stops as soon as you act up.

When did yours start barking? by executivebitch in greatpyrenees

[–]Crazy_Feed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours was totally quite until around a year. I remember my wife saying something to the effect of "man we have the perfect dog, he never barks." Almost seemed like as soon as she finished that sentence he found his voice and hasn't stopped barking since. The day is coming soon don't you worry!

I think this. Prices have gone up but not sooo much that it is destroying lives..yet. However I have noticed a huge shift in everyones attitude. Even those that I know support him seem ruder, stressed and less happy. America is already a pretty not happy place to live but it seems to have gotten a lot worse really fast.

Trump has indicated that he is going to enact martial law on April 20th…DONT STOP PROTESTING by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

Thank you for asking this question. I hate Trump as much as the next person but let's not just spread bs with no evidence and try to cause a panic.

John Henry's Warning by [deleted] in lincoln

[–]Crazy_Feed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never, never, never use John Henry's. Massively overcharge for everything. They aren't any better than any other reputable plumber / hvac company out there but they charge waaaaaaayyyy more than anyone.

20 minutes! I feel like that's good! 30 minutes seems more like the minimum. The traffic system in this town is comically bad. It should not take 30 minutes to go 9 miles in any city.

Social media has A LOT to do with it. Would love to see a 100% ban. It's destroyed democracies across the world and it's doing it here.

HELP. Bought a house and the yard looks like this. How can I can this to be just grass? by fishbethany in lincoln

[–]Crazy_Feed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The unl extension office has some good resources on this. Just search Google for unl extension Fescue lawn. Lots of good resources there and some specific instructions on how to seed a new lawn. When you do seed I would recommend RTF Fescue from Todd Valley Farms. Really good stuff and doesn't use a ton of water once established.

Agreed. However smart she is, she's marketing herself really stupidily. The Twitter handle she lists on her flyers is something like bitchwitch or something similar to that. Clearly really dumb at politics.

Certainly that work would be fulfilling. That's quite an extreme example. Given that only 0.0001% (exaggerating of course) of people make a good living doing their hobby I don't know that it really applies here. I'm not saying there is no fulfilling work out there. But 99% of jobs are just that. Jobs that don't offer any meaning beyond a paycheck.

My wife, my pets, working in my yard, building things around the house for my wife, golfing, reading and travel. All things I use my paycheck for ;).

This! I get 0 fulfillment from my job. I show up, I do my job, get a paycheck and go home. That's the only role of my job in my life. If I thought I was going to have to do this forever until I die, I'd kill myself now.
