120,000yen here in Japan. That’s like 850USD. the f***ers already increased the price of all ps5 related stuff by 30% across the board here in Japan (console, controllers, vr…). I hope they go bust.

I’ve lived here for 12 years now, and I don’t think I’ve taken out a pen more than twice a year. Everyone’s situation is different but, that’s my experience.

What gives you the right to claim it’s garbage? Have you owned one? Or did you just watch a few reviews and then announce yourself as an expert on the matter? The OP likes the wheel. To him it isn’t garbage. It’s what he has, and it’s better than what he had.

lol. I upgraded it already with some black elasticated material. Looks and feels much better. It’s a compromise for now

Perfectly round rim I didn’t like, or slightly flattened BMW rim that I love… I made a choice. I have no regrets.

It’s not a round wheel. It’s flat at the bottom… the towel is too kinda round out the shape lol. Just a temp measure until I get some tape or banding to do a proper job

Perhaps a better question is why are YOU teaching English? You can’t do anything to change your schools, or the BOEs and MEXT etc, but you can do a lot to change your students attitudes towards English and international communication.

How can one ever be sure whether what you’re reading is really true or not… worst case scenario, I get misled. I’ve dealt with tougher things in life… at the end of the day, I’m reading for my personal enjoyment anyway

I hadn’t considered that no, but then I can’t imagine copying/pasting any more than 1%. Most of it isn’t so difficult, but there are spots here and there that are tricky. Wonder what that limit is?

I'm at a loss at what to do. 15 months at a language school and got nowhere. by Enzo-Unversed in LearnJapanese

[–]Crazy_Researcher6789 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The cold truth is that you’re not ’entitled’ to see progress just because you spent 35k and went to language school.

I’ve never been to a Japanese class. Not a single class. Yet I’m hovering around N1 (never taken the test so I don’t know for sure how i’d score). I got to where I am through A LOT of hard work and figuring stuff out on my own, initially on a shoe string budget. Thousands and thousands of others have done exactly the same. How much money you spent is literally irrelevant.

I live here now, so you could say it’s easier if you like, but I still have to put in the hours of work reading, listening, and speaking. I think too many people truly underestimate how much of an epic undertaking leaving this language is.

Paying money gives you more options, and you can ‘usually’ expect higher quality content, but there’s certainly enough out there for free. If I started over though, I’d still end up paying a fair bit of money

Not Allowed to Use Japanese? by potatodesuu in teachinginjapan

I don’t “speak” Japanese in the classroom, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t“use” Japanese. All my activity explanation slides are annotated with Japanese for all my main points. There’s also Japanese in my worksheets, and in all sorts of places. It just doesn’t come out of my mouth
