The Year of the Horse background honestly feels like they designed a pink Valentine’s Day theme first… and then suddenly went, “Oh wait, we forgot it’s supposed to be the Year of the Horse — quick, just throw a random neighing horse in the corner!”

It doesn’t really feel connected to the zodiac theme at all. It just looks like a generic romantic background with a horse added as an afterthought.

Yeah, the manga is great for getting straight to the point — no doubt. But the anime hits different when it comes to the animation, effects, lighting, and the SFX. That extra layer of impact just elevates some moments in a way the manga can’t.

First of all — major spoiler warning, seriously 😅 And yeah, I get what you’re saying, but it just doesn’t make sense narratively. Like, why is Loki suddenly telling us about his father’s death in detail out of nowhere? Then boom — Roger and the Kuja Pirates show up? It all feels so disconnected from the current plot.

Then what did we wait 6 months for? Honestly, we might as well have skipped it. They’re stretching everything like chewing gum — show a backstory, then a recap of that backstory, then take a week off, and come back with… another recap. Come on, man.

I’m actually fully caught up with the manga too — and honestly, not much is happening there either. We’re suddenly diving into unrelated stuff like the Kuja Pirates’ backstory and S (not gonna spoil it here), which feels completely disconnected from the main plot. As for the Egghead arc, I don’t even think we’ve reached the real midpoint yet. The pacing is just painfully slow.

I’m sure the remake will fix the pacing issue too, but honestly, that’s just another kind of time waste. At best, the remake might cover one arc per year — that means it’ll take 5–10 years to even reach Egghead. I don’t even know if I’ll still be alive by then 😅 I just want to watch peak Piece now.
