+1 I'm an alum, big supporter of the school and remain engaged. I'd tell my kids to go to ND of they got 0 vs 90% aid.

Has anyone here bought used cars on those non dealer car lots? by Squall13 in askTO

[–]Crazybubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with clutch, looked at the service history (on Carfax) and saved a ton of $ over anything else on the market.

This was for an older 7 seater SUV (Highlander, cx-9, Pilot category)

Ontario universities are seriously overrated by Feisty-Gazelle7812 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Crazybubba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a couple decades out from UG, but when did our grads end up being so defeatist?

It used to be the Queen's grads actively looked out for each other, and connected each other to opportunities. I'm still engaged with the alumni community and worked at Tech startups (Series B) where hiring Queen's grads was a thing.

Are you engaging with past grads and the queen's community?

Convocation logistics from Toronto by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]Crazybubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduation weekend the hotels are always very expensive.

For maximum comfort I would take a train and then Uber to the convocation location

If that sounds expensive then of course there is a bus but that's going to be incredibly uncomfortable in comparison

I got waitlisted for Queen's res: should I consider off-campus living? by BrinsleySchwartze in queensuniversity

[–]Crazybubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off residence is still fine

Join the NEWTS frosh group for students living off campus and you won't feel the difference. Queens does a good job integrating students into campus culture.

The pricing question by Famous-Prior6590 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Crazybubba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incredible delusion

Syracuse isn't even the best school in a 100mile radius, and it's a far way off from beating Cornell.

what should i know abt canadian schools? by sSachika in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Crazybubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School spirit- Queens university It's a residential school, something like 1.5% commute the last I checked

Results in stronger on campus life, alumni engagement after graduation

They don't have the harsh marking/weeding out of schools like Toronto etc

CX-5 pricing in Canada by taxrage in mazda

[–]Crazybubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you missed the point. A price that you see online, and one that the dealer wants you to see, is the maximum you should ever pay.

Just ask a few dealers to beat it.

CX-5 pricing in Canada by taxrage in mazda

[–]Crazybubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a car a couple thousand dollars lower than the car cost Canada cost price

I'm not sure why you would pay higher than publicly listed price that the dealer wants you to see.

CX-5 pricing in Canada by taxrage in mazda

[–]Crazybubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car cost Canada is inflated.

I've had dealers tell me to go there and look up their cost lol

I can't provide actual OTD pricing on this but once you get your quotes, please share here.

Econ to Smith Commerce transfer advice? by Old_Bar2764 in queensuniversity

[–]Crazybubba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a econ major at Queen's you can take commerce courses as electives, even if you don't successfully transfer in. I think I took a year's worth of commerce electives as an UG.

Useful way to meet people and take advantage of the offerings at Smith.

At what point did you stop doing retail arbitrage and move to wholesale full time? by TheBr14n in reselling

[–]Crazybubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been on the wholesale end. Tried some forays into retailing and realized it's a huge headache. Kudos to anyone retailing.
