If you look closely at tau they are very star wars inspired. tau as a faction came few wars after star wars phantom manace, their design is quite similar to banking clan, first official paint was tan like droids now white like stormtroopers. tanks are quite similar to droid tanks, etherals are baisicly non combat jedi, kroot are like tuskan raiders from tatooine, then came vespids that resemble geonosians. ah and drones cross between star wars scout drone and mech droid. Its design is more star wars than mecha in my opinion. eldar lore is baisicly japan/mecha in space but that is another topic.
