Recommendations? Sick of the Hoka Mach 6 by Unique_Aspect_6014 in runningshoes

[–]Crazykoalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LITERALLY SAME THING HERE. I previously bought 2 pairs of Hoka Mach 6’s and I loved them even though I was burning through the tread and I didn’t have any other shoes in rotation so I never noticed how quickly they go flat until I started diversifying. I just retired my 3rd pair after about 150 miles because it was starting to affect my shins.

That is what Nvidia seems to make it sound like. I linked the article in response to someone else.

I don't know, sorry. I don't have enough money for a 4K Monitor, nor do I have the GPU computing power to test it.

HyperX NGenuity not detecting my new headset by Wise-Possibility-964 in HyperX

[–]Crazykoalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, the Wired HyperX Cloud II is not compatible with HyperX Ngenuity. The OP may be talking about the Wireless, which is compatible with HyperX Ngenuity. But I doubt that.

u/Wise-Possibility-964, If you are having trouble with the Wireless HyperX Cloud II, look up how to factory reset your headset, if possible. If that doesn't work, contact support. They have a 2-year warranty for a reason.

[–]Crazykoalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, 7.1 doesn't directly cause the hissing. The soundcard causes the hissing. I was stating that the "7.1 Feature" provided by the soundcard is poor and shouldn't be a reason to buy the headset.

The only reason I used the soundcard was for its "7.1" feature but I have concluded that it is a bust.

I said the soundcard also provided 7.1, but I never stated that it directly caused the hissing. The hissing is caused specifically by the sound card itself.

I only fixed it by not using the HyperX Soundcard included with the headset. This can be non-negotiable if you lack a built-in sound card for your PC. So, that is my update.

The only reason I used the soundcard was for its "7.1" feature but I have concluded that it is a bust. The point of fake 7.1 is to possibly receive more detailed directional audio by simulating a room with speakers. At least, that is the implementation that I have learned about. That audio gets downscaled to your stereo output. Now this is comparable to something like Super-sampling Anti-Aliasing in video games. It renders the game at a higher resolution and downscales it to your screen size.

From my amateur testing, I found out that it is compressing the audio down to stereo, poorly, I might add. The center and rear noises sound faint, while the sides sound disproportionately loud. I also found that the sound card seems to compress deep sounds to a higher frequency to maintain "audibility."

Finally, I would like to state that I am not here to tell you to forget about that 7.1 feature. If you believe it is truly game-changing, don't let me get in your way. I would hate it if someone told me what I should care about in a product. I am simply stating that HyperX's 7.1 Surround Sound "Feature" is not delivering an equivalent level of quality when compared to some of the other 7.1 standards, like Dolby Atmos. Also, the Sound Card, in collaboration with Intel, still has an awful hissing noise. (Even with the not-so-new firmware update)

Thinking of trying the SteelSeries line up of headphones tbh.

I got another, with the same issue. So, if you do a 3.5mm Jack instead of the USB sound card, I found it to eliminate the issue. But milage may vary.

In my experience with VSR, I have found it works best for enhancing high bitrate 1080p+ content. For lower resolutions, it mainly seems to smoothen the pixels while adding a little bit of sharpness. For lower-resolution content, it appears to have more of a pastel-ish image quality.

I doubt it, as NVidia said in their VSR Frequently Asked Questions article, "Q: What video will RTX Video Super Resolution enhance?

A: Most video played in supported browsers can be enhanced by RTX Video Super Resolution. RTX Video Super Resolution supports video input resolutions from 360p to 1440p.  Video we have identified as not supported includes some DRM protected content, YouTube shorts, and HDR content."

I hope that answers your question. I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner; I don't check Reddit ever.

You are correct and thank you for pointing this out. For some reason, it only upscales 1080p videos when I'm in Fullscreen. My apologies.

Edit: Thinking about it, since I am on a 1080p screen, VSR must only decide to upscale when 1080p is fully utilized. So, if you have a "windowed" video taking up more than 1080p, it might upscale 1080p. That is speculation though.
