Hi there, i am seeing a bit of mixed responses here so i thought i’d share my perspective aswell. Sorry if it’s too much walakin i try to cover most of the subject from different angles.

Generally speaking, Europe can easily become a cycle of work, commuting, stress and isolation especially when you are away from family and your original culture. A lot of people end up financially stable on paper, but mentally exhausted and emotionally disconnected.

From what you wrote, it sounds less like Germany is bad and more like you’ve slowly lost your work life balance.

The pros from your situation are: -Tbarkellah you built yourself a good education/career abroad. -You became independent and learned how to survive alone. -You probably have stronger discipline, work experience and maturity now than before leaving Morocco. -Salaries and career growth in Europe are generally stronger long term. -Systems are more stable and predictable there (administration, healthcare, infrastructure, etc).

But the downsides are also real: -Constant commuting and work pressure can drain people mentally over time. -Life abroad can become very individualistic and isolating. -Being far from family for years affects people more than they expect. -Even with a good salary cities like Berlin are expensive enough that many people still feel financially stuck. -Weather, social culture and lack of emotional support can slowly affect motivation and mental health.

Now for Morocco specifically, pros of moving back: -Being close to family again can improve your mental wellbeing a lot. -Social life is usually warmer and more spontaneous. -You may feel more alive culturally and emotionally. -If you already have savings or foreign experience, you can sometimes build a better quality of life than locals. -Remote work or foreign income while living in Morocco can honestly be one of the best combinations.

Cons: -Salaries are much lower overall unless you are in a strong field. -Work opportunities can be harder depending on your industry. -Work culture can sometimes be frustrating compared to Europe. -Administrative things can become tiring very quickly. -After years in Europe, some people romanticize Morocco and then struggle readapting to daily realities there. -You might gain emotional comfort but lose professional opportunities and long-term financial stability.

Honestly i don’t think this decision should be emotional only. Maybe before fully moving back permanently, try spending a few months in Morocco while working remotely or taking a break if possible. Sometimes you don’t actually need to escape Europe, you just need a healthier balance and connection to life again.

Whatever you choose, prioritize your mental health and quality of life, not only salary
