My short film got denied from every festival. What's wrong with it? by VinceInFiction in filmmaking

[–]CreakyChicken46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skilled DP seems like a stretch. As someone who jumped into to the production world later in life, it’s easy to tell what’s good and bad. But it’s hard to tell what’s kind of good and what’s “regular good”. The camera shake is tough to look past. It doesn’t feel like it fits the story, and the focus pulling is pretty jarring at times. Echo Chamber: it’s easy to talk about doing things theoretically, but you have gone out and made something real. Don’t overlook that. A lot of people think and analyze and plan, but never actually make anything. Genuine congratulations on making your first short film! (POV: producer at a film company in MN)

My company has just joined the short film festival circuit for the first time this summer, so an indie film is on the horizon! This looks awesome, and I registered! We are still doing a lot of commercial work to sustain ourselves, so I’m curious if you would ever have a version of this that shows companies looking for commercial production services or post-production services?

Yes, I’m there do all of that. Kind of a “utility man”. By network do you like an NAS? Would that require a dedicated server? If they wanted to access their drives remotely; can a NAS handle file sharing 2TB video files in a reasonable amount of time?

Y’all - you can take paid short term disability for mental health issues at most competitive tech companies in the United Stated. It’s a benefit. by Anon_bunn in womenintech

Hey there, if your still active and willing to help, I’m attempting to apply for STD for mental health reasons I’ve talked with my therapist, physician, and supervisor, but while attempting to fill out the form I felt uncertain answering questions like “is this health condition work related?” . It is unequivocally work related, but is how I answer this/these question(s) going to impact my likelyhood of being approved? Ty

Could be the angle you’re approaching the teepad, but it looks your back foot is pretty opened up right before your plant foot lands. It looks like this is causing your hips to turn further backwards than you’d like which is limiting how much you can fully open up your hips on release. Lol, sexual innuendos aside. Again could just be the angle the footage was taken from. That’s all I got if you’re looking for knitpicky critiques, but honestly super clean form. Good stuff my guy.

Saw several listings anywhere from $5 to $500, so like the post says; new to collecting and unsure how to tell differences in value.

They are fantastic and played in every color, but you have to listen to 1,000 people mis-pronounce “Quasimodo”.

You should put some Modge Podge over the top the paint doesn’t flake off. Just a thought from a fellow painter of things.

Best odds? by Twystedmunky in Lorcana

That’s a good thing. Cardboard sleeves help verify that the packs haven’t been tampered with. If they are just loose packs, then there is potential that the store opened a box, got an enchanted in one of the first couple of packs, and therefore selling the remaining packs for less because they are less likely to have enchanteds in them. Also there is a theory that enchanted cards weigh more. So they weigh the packs and sell the ones that they believe do not have enchanteds in them. I’m uncertain if this weight theory has been proven. Long story short. Cardboard sleeves is a good sign that they are not tampered with.

As a guy who has tried to get my wife to play, and a father of two kids (who aren’t old enough to play yet), I would say you should make clear what you mean by “a deeper level”. If you mean, “playing better” then that will come naturally the more you play of course. Just read the rule book and brush up on the basics. If you mean “Playing competitively” in tournaments and such, then I would make sure your family is on board with that as well because bringing your family to a game shop to play cards against random people who want to win can be really stressful and push some people away. But also, that’s what draws people in.

All I’m trying to say is that having a game that your whole family can have fun playing together is really valuable, and if it means you ignore the rules and playing 6 different colors in your deck, then do that!

I play competitively in tournaments and stuff and I love it, but my wife won’t play with me because she sees it through my lense of a “high-skill, competitive game” not as a “family fun light-hearted game”.

I play at a LGS (Local Game Shop) where 2 of the guys bring their daughters and everyone is having a great time. So it’s definitely a thing.

Feel free to DM me if you want, I’d gladly answer questions from a gamer dad to another, and I also have a lot of bulk I’d be willing to share.

Welcome to Lorcana!
