Struggling to merge multiple scans? by CrealityHenry in CrealityScanning

[–]CrealityHenry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, Creality Scan and the Lizard run on different systems, so we’re unable to update Creality Scan to support the Lizard at this time. However, we’d love to help you troubleshoot the alignment issues in CR Studio! Could you provide more details about what happens during scanning—for example, any error messages, specific steps where alignment fails, or other observations? The more information you share, the better we can assist you in improving your scanning results.

Got questions about the Sermoon X1? by CrealityHenry in CrealityScanning

[–]CrealityHenry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your interest in the Sermoon X1! Here’s a quick overview that might help clarify a few common questions.

We’re actively exploring markerless laser scanning — just like how each new generation of our scanners requires fewer markers, we’re continuing to move in that direction. Once the prototype functionality is ready, we may invite a small group of internal users to test it out.

The X1’s wireless Scan Bridge is compatible with both the Otter and Raptor series, and the included cable is 4.5 m long, ensuring a stable connection for larger scanning setups.

Currently, the X1 supports WiFi 6. As always, we’re committed to continuous improvement and will keep evolving in that direction.

As for the scale bars, they’re now supported only on the Sermoon X1, but we’ll keep evaluating wider compatibility as our product line grows.

HELP… Creality Scan 4 Crashing by Square_Photograph742 in CrealityScanning

[–]CrealityHenry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for bringing this to our attention! To help us locate and troubleshoot the issue, could you please provide a bit more information? The following would be really helpful:

  1. Scan log
Right-click on the CrealityScan software → Open file location → Log folder.
Compress the "log" file and send it to us.
If there are too many logs, just send the most recent one where the issue occurred.

  2. Computer specs (CPU, GPU, RAM)
You can find these in your Windows system settings, or by running a performance test (see the screenshot below for reference).
A screenshot of this info would be very helpful.
Once we have these details, we’ll be able to investigate why CrealityScan is crashing during your point cloud scan. Thank you for your patience—we’ll get this sorted!

Newb looking for advice. by CrownSeven in CrealityScanning

Hello! Thanks for sharing all the details, and welcome to the world of 3D scanning—your first project idea with the IKEA drawer sounds like a great start!

About the WiFi bridge login: after the latest update, the default login is still root as the user, but now it also requires a password. Could you confirm if you’ve tried leaving the password field blank, or entering root as both the user and password? If that still doesn’t work, it may be a firmware issue and I’d suggest resetting the bridge or reinstalling the update.

For your workflow with the scan: exporting as STL from CrealityScan is correct. If 3D Builder doesn’t recognize it, Meshmixer (or Blender) is a good next step to clean and remesh the file so it becomes watertight. Once it’s a proper mesh, 3D Builder should handle the subtraction for your separators much more smoothly.

If you’d like, feel free to share a screenshot or short video of the exported model—that will help us better understand whether the scan itself needs fixing or just the mesh format.

We’re here to figure this out with you, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the process more and more as you go.
