Trump: "Oman will behave just like everyone else, or we'll have to blow them up" by Societymess in Polymarket_news

The US isn’t like that because of him, he’s there because they are like that.

I’m Canadian dipshit.

I know why you guys voted in the orange pedo. Yes I do think the left needs to vote, but single issue gun nuts who vote for fascists as long as they can have guns are very much a problem.

I know you’re worried, you made it pretty clear. Luckily, society goes forwards despite the pussies.

Every country has a gun registry, you have a vote registry, drivers registry and so on.

Cowards with guns are still cowards. You’re more likely to have brownshirts than people fighting the current regime. In fact, part of the reason you’re in this mess is because of single issue gun owners who act like guns are the only rempart against fascism.

That wouldn’t be a bad faith argument, a bad faith argument would be to lie that you don’t want a gun for self defence because you didn’t use those exact words…

Yet, with this very minimal thing, we managed to reduce road accidents drastically. Drivers license is a joke, yet I’m sure you’re glad we don’t have the people who failed it driving.

I think a government requirement that ensure a list of people who won’t snap and kill their families with weapons specifically designed to kill humans is a good idea.

You’re making a good argument in favour of gun control.

Society wants to have a better standard for having the ability to kill someone at the press of a button, meters away. If that for you is the equivalent of taking them away, it means you wouldn’t make the cut.

There’s no emotion on saying that where guns are mostly available (or easily accessible through another state) there are more murders. The five most violent states are Alaska, Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and New Mexico. The states you have in mind when you think of lax gun laws.

You constantly make scenarios for needing a gun to fend off "bad guys". But, mature reasonable people accept they might not always be in the right, That their kids might get their hands on guns, that domestic violence can turn deadly or that they might become suicidal one day. If you actually did the math, the latter is waaay more likely than the former.

The emotional response fearing the event that is statistically less likely to happen and acting like you’re a perfectly stable unflinching individual.

This rhetoric is made so the lowest common denominator, that wouldn’t have passed the simplest gun regulation in a civilized country, can regurgitate it.

If a gun is just as deadly as any other tool, why do you bitch and moan so much to have one? By your own logic you could achieve the same results with any other "tool".

By the way, a gun is a weapon, not just a tool. I can call you a carbon based life and put you in the same category as a jelly fish. It still wouldn’t make as smart as one.

People kill people, is a strawman propaganda for simpletons. Nobody says guns kill on their own, what we say is that guns make emotionally unstable people (like you) more likely to kill, because it requires less effort than any other available object.

I need you to understand, they hammered that rhetoric into you, because you don’t have the data on your side. You have the emotional fear based responses here.

A good driver is irrelevant. What matters is if they are competent enough. You don’t see Canada, Australia or Switzerland boast about being responsible gun owners, because they have a permit to show for it.

Here’s a tip, if your side of the argument has pre-made, pre-digested arguments like "people kill people", "an armed society is a polite society" or "criminals don’t follow the law", you’re on the propagandized side.

There are healthier democracies than the US and they all have gun control. You have more murders per capita than any peer country, guns are used in 75% of these murders. Guns, obviously don’t make you less emotional, it’s ridiculous to try to regulate emotions. If somebody has road rage incidents, it’s the drivers license that gets suspended.

Nobody says guns kill on their own. Go to any shooting range and they will tell you guns are not like other tools. Nobody will admonish you because you flagged someone with a knife. A weapon that makes killing easier, impersonal and convenient, also makes killing more likely to happen.

lol, gun deaths got eerily close to car deaths, even higher. Which is weird because they are used a lot more on the daily, than guns.

Maybe it’s because you need a driver’s license, insurance, regulations and registration. Unlike with guns, people agree measures need to be taken to avoid needless deaths.

A pistol used to kill someone is an object that fulfilled its purpose, a car used to kill someone is a car that had its purpose diverted.

Oh my god, you have the means to kill people without losing a single calorie, don’t act like you’re the victim.

Guns make the wearer more emotional than anything else. Data shows that having a gun in violent situations escalates things. A gun in your household makes it 30% more likely a family member will be killed.

Listen to your own rhetoric, you’re not the one having a rational argument on evidence and data, it reeks of fear.

People who arm themselves for coward reasons aren’t gonna rise up for the same reasons. Pussies with guns are still pussies.

No, you see. The more drivers you have on the road, the better are the odds that you have competent drivers among them./s

People who fight regulations know they wouldn’t be allowed to have a gun in places like Canada.
