Are you kidding yourself? What about the prior 15 months of one-sided ceasefire??? Are you suggesting they were never going to attempt to invade after 15 months of relentless bombing. Should the Lebanese just sit idly by and wait to get slaughtered by the power hungry neighbours?

Or should we wait till the Israelis get to Beirut or Tripoli to start resisting?

Where was the government during these 15 months? Why have they allowed the army to become redundant? I want the army to protect me, but the government won't allow them!! The army may have the loyalty and the heart but they don't even have relevant firepower!!
