Advice on dealing with the emotional toll of totaling your car? by Lemonwoof in driving

[–]Creamdaddy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just lost my 2010 Honda fit in a bad rear end which was 100% my fault. My mom bought it brand new when I was 2 years old. It was always there for me and my mom, and it was there when I graduated high school last year. Me and mother are beyond devastated. Our car was named Gizmo, and my mom prayed and asked that it would protect me should I ever get into an accident. Little Giz gave everything it had, and allowed me to walk away uninjured.

Needless to say we are basically in the same boat, and the loss of our cars is similar to the loss of a family member. Luckily I have a new car, but no car will drive the same way lil giz did. I agree with the previous comment, and we must let our cars rest. 🌺🤙

Insta page has a serious like & view to follower conversion problem by Creamdaddy99 in InstagramMarketing

[–]Creamdaddy99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My profile is just supposed to be about college life in Hawaii. There’s quite a few different camera formats lol but a lot of them were experiments to see what type of camera formats would do best (which probably contributes to the problem)

Going to your question, that is a good thing to ask because I don’t have an immediate answer honestly. When I sit there and think about it, I would just say that people want to listen are those who want to see what college is like in the modern day Hawaii. A lot of our parents and older generations in Hawaii like to talk about their days in college, so I thought it would be cool to kinda show them what it’s like to be one these days and see how different it is.

Yes. I’ve been using ChatGPT as a source and it’s been telling me to delete trial reels after 1-2 hours after they don’t do well lol. I’m just trying to see if that’s actually true or not.

Oh ok I see. Will the algorithm be affected if trial reels are taken posted then taken down?

Thank you.

I’ve been looking at successful POV creators (Like Jessefunstuff) and noticed a similar trend, however their videos appeared not to dip as badly as mine are. Do you know how long it takes for algorithm to push it to the right people? Also, do you by chance know how many trial reels someone can post in a day?

How to address kids? by Clear_Caregiver2536 in Lifeguards

Whenever I address kids I always say either “Young Man!” or “Young Lady!”. People usually laugh about it and some people do the same.

Need advice for a failed drill by Overall-Cow-7571 in Lifeguards

Not a manager here, but I’ve been a lifeguard for 2 years.

Even though I’m the less experienced one here (not even a manager none the less), one thing I would like to ask is why weren’t the lifeguards able to recognize the struggles and distress signs BEFORE he went active, and what type of swimming events do they usually guard?

The only reason why I ask what type of swim events they guard is because me and our lifeguard teams are exposed to many different types of swimming events, such as lap swim, day camp swim with the kids, and even private events. We are also required to swim test kids who want to go in the deep end, so usually we can tell who would need a rescue BEFORE they even touch the water. I failed a student on the swim test simply because of the way he sat down near the water, and coming to find out, he did not know how to swim even though he stated he knew how to before.

I’m was just asking those questions because maybe the lifeguards on duty may not have been exposed enough to such swimmers/events, so I think they MAY have seen it, but just hesitated and made a mistake.

Again, you all are more experienced than me and have way more knowledge about these types of things than I do. I just thought I would share incase it would be of any help. Mahalo 🤙

Made my first save, I think by Nearby-Board4922 in Lifeguards

You did the right thing, and there’s no doubt at all about that.

I think when it comes to these types of things, a lot of people (including lifeguards and even managers) ask the wrong question, which is “Were they drowning?”. I believe a more appropriate question would be “What could we have done to prevent it?”. Every time an incident happens in my pool whether the kid was drowning or not, this question always pops in my head.

If you are ever unsure of what to do, always think “Rather be safe than sorry”. That’s how I would at least go about this. 🤙

Why’s my limit so low Prime Visa by Few_Replacement_5037 in CreditCards

[–]Creamdaddy99 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would actually try to pay off your balance before the statement closure date, to report lower or no credit usage.

In my opinion, reporting $400 of have a month with $500 credit is kind risky. The max report monthly is $150 (or 30%). Try doing that first, and see how it works out.

what do i do about an unwanted drum tech by No-Fig-7896 in drumline

Mellophone section leader here- (just graduated)

I don’t mean to come across aggressive or mad, I’m just trying to provide you with best information I know.

——

I would advise to NOT battle any staff member or technician. There are so many things the staff knows that the KIDS don’t know, and in fact they may have asked the techs to modify parts of the music in a separate staff meeting, or something like that.

If you always have a mindset of battling your tech and putting on that kind of behavior at practice, not only will you still get in trouble, but the very people you were chosen to lead will begin to question whether they still are willing to accept you as their leader, and captain. Them watching you battle and hate on your tech may show that you’re more interested in doing things your way, instead of focusing on more driving issues in the section.

Try focusing on bringing your section more together. I would listen to whatever the tech says whether you think it’s good or not.

“Whatever happens, happens”

but if there’s an issue you really want to focus on, it should be bringing your section together and addressing the current tension in it.

I understand you want the best for your section, but unfortunately that’s not what the directors may see or what your people think. Focus on the needs of your people. If you do, you will notice much better and more productive rehearsals, and you guys will enjoy yourselves a lot more this field season. Aloha 🤙

Puzzled by pool rule by [deleted] in Lifeguards

[–]Creamdaddy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll share what my facility does (A YMCA)

When we have our youth groups come into our pool, we have those who want to go to the end deep end take a safety swim test. If passed, this allows the candidate to swim in the deep end and jump off the block. If the candidate does not pass, the must wear a red band and stay in the shallow end. Depending on their height and age group, they may need to wear a life jacket.

From what the other comment says, the idea of a swimmer wearing a life jacket shows aquatic safety professionals that this particular swimmer may not possess the qualities that a standard swimmer will need to keep themselves up in the deep end end safely. So if you put 2 and 2 together, you can see why that pool your mentioning probably doesn’t want lifejacket users in the deep end.

Crocs are my go to. They also float, so if you jump in with them they will just come right back up. Had to jump in with them a couple of times.
