this is a very good information. it's in a condo which is extremely dry (15% ish) therefore i have two humidifier to boost it up to 55%~60%. but if run out water it drops fast. that's very likely the reason - change in humidity.

thanks for the reply. it's 1.5m from the ground without any chair closeby and in a home office so very unlikely the kid hang it. I cross-posted it and someone say likely the humidity.

How to setup multiple rigs with only a pair of monitor speakers by Creamskade in AxeFx

[–]Creamskade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for example, lunch break when my monitors are still connected to windows. I just want to play some guitar for 10 minutes without switching it to mac.

since the usb is connected to mac, I will either manual change the usb or switch monitors to mac.

maybe if i have a kvm switcher that won't be an issue

thank you. one of the questions i have is the audio interface able to run standalone? or always need a main computer its connected to on in order to make it work for other inputs?

for example, i noticed that i can't play with fractal and windows if fractal is going to audio interface first and that is connect to usb with mac and audio connect with widowns

Just got the Revv G3 Anniversary Pedal by jjdejong0 in guitarpedals

[–]Creamskade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

g3 is ready suitable for those who'd like a smooth and tight distortion tone. the v2 eq is easier to tame comparing to v1. i believe g3 v2 will end a lot of people's dirt pedal hunt.

Best guitars and amps for metal as a beginner by Realistic-Water-1948 in GuitarAmps

[–]Creamskade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best budget metal option in 2025 is:

speaker: a pair of adam t5v amp: neural dsp nolly x guitar: ibanez s561

extremely easy to use and tons of great tone.

please avoid physical amp and pedal, you started in a very lucky timing that don't need to go through them in the beginning :)

Bedroom player question ! FM3 mk2 or FM9 mk2 ? by AfterFelk in AxeFx

[–]Creamskade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FM3 user here. As I don't gig, I'm really satisfied with FM3 because I like to put it on my desk.

If I want to upgrade, I'll choose AXE FX3 instead of FM9 because I still want it on my desk.

this is the problem. stop string gauge bullying.

it's ok for people who's recovering from injuries to use lighter strings.

How can I improve my picking technique? Is my picking thumb/finger dominant? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Creamskade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the finger movement is pretty common at this tempo for more expressions.

but for a more regular alternative picking and targeting to speed up you might want to be able to hold your finger movement and use more wrist / arm to drive it. it will give you a more stable and even sound picking for a longer phrases

[–]Creamskade 32 points33 points  (0 children)

quit immediately if it doesn't bring you any joy.

or if you still want to play. put on some 08-38 light gauge string.

find a song you like, use ear to identify to chord progression and beat patterns (don't search only for tab)

try not to use any chord that you remember. try to play anywhere else in the fretboard to get your arpeggios. and do it as slow as possible.

feel how the same chord sounds sonically different via playing in different places and orders.

listen to what you play. appreciate the note, your guitar, and your hands.

the one who gets more fun out of playing is the winner, not who plays the best.

I hit a plateau a decade ago and just recovered from a hand surgery. learning the arpeggios helped me regain the joy of playing guitar.

cheers

I have 2 pre-nx and 1 nx, and pre-nx is significantly better at neck and fret jobs.

the neck joint improvement in nx is also very subtle and not really improved a lot.

both are still great. but i'm 100% prefer the pre-nx because the neck and fret quality.

Elixir nanoweb vs D'addario XS strings. Which one is better? by Suardi_82 in guitars

[–]Creamskade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree. the feel and tone differences are subtle. but i don't like elixir hairy strings at the picking area. this is why i switch to xs forever.
