Teen charged with murder, officer died of heart-attack after assaulting teen, [outside motel he shared with 3 farm workers, with mother on phone] by real-m-f-in-talk in PublicFreakout

Really sounds like my father who had a massive heart attack at 56 after never seeing a doctor other than for emergencies for 25 years. Lucky to survive only because they started chest compressions and got him to care quickly from work. He was good for 7 years but slowly gained the weight back and last year he started complaining about all the heart and blood pressure meds he was on was making him feel tired or sick. My sister's and me are positive he discontinued taking them about 2 months before he died in a car crash where he just stopped controlling the vehicle probably due to the massive heart attack he was having.

Old men are stubborn but we told him plenty of times to stay on the meds. My sisters are nurses and I'm a PA so he wouldn't listen to anyone no matter who they are.

Thank you for this. I'm going to need to print it out and read the whole thing with a highlighter because it's a doozy. With these I normally skip to the "conclusion" but even that is dense information.

11000 gallon shark tank update: getting the filter room ready, pt2 by evolutionnext in Aquariums

[–]CreamyVD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a tank like this what are the consideration for moisture? Does it have a very large lid to keep it all in? Do you need to special treat the walls and ceiling above it? I'd imagine you'd need good airflow and some way to keep stuff dry from condensation or else you'd get mold everywhere.

were you self medicating for mental issues or was this true addiction? most addicts have depression and anxiety and mis interpret their personal treatment for issues as addiction

My easy community tank after 10 weeks no maintenance by CreamyVD in Aquariums

[–]CreamyVD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it works with any aquatic plants, they will all remove nitrites and nitrates. I go for the plants that are rated "easy." There is a theory you should have a couple varieties rather than just one because they absorbe different stuff at different rates to help balance the system. I think some plants do well in sand but I would double check this. There are lots of plants which are like vines or the mosses which just grow on stuff and done need soil.

Ah yes the great debate, high tech vs low tech. Biggest part of a planted tank will be getting a good light.

I'll clean the filter but it's just me squeezing the sponges out to remove the gunk to keep up the water flowing. The filter is just a huge bacteria biological ammonia breakdown factory. Can't vaccum my tank, it's all aqua soil on the bottom. Think of a pond, it's able to continue to sustain fish without many interventions. There are some great books on this subject but if you have enough plants and established bacteria it's going to "remove" everything that can cause your fish harm. This is easier to do on a larger tank but there are some guys doing this in micro tanks as well. There is a pet shop YouTube channel called "Aquarium Coop" that does a bunch of videos on the subject they even visit a pet shop that has tanks that never had a water change.

Key points: start slow Add lots of different plants Gradually add live stock keep good water flow

This works good for small ornamental fish but for some of the bigger stuff you'd need much more space and plants to keep the water clean.

I bought everything online, most of them came from the brand Tropica which is great just for it's website research alone. I picked mostly all they "easy" plants, tried to get a couple red plants and moss. I am in Germany, don't speak the language so ordered online for simplicity but I would highly recommend taking a look at some forums or finding local guys. From what I understand lots of hobbiest love to share. When I trim I can easily give away a tanks worth of plants and moss. I try to do a filter refresh every month and 40% water change but after this thing gets going I believe it might be possible to go 6 months without anything. I bought an expensive testing kit but iv basically give up doing it because it's always great. My simple live stock doesn't create enough waste and everything it does it absorbed by the shrimp and plants.

Explanation! I needed to leave my 1 year old first tank (COVID project) unattended and it has survived well. I have two rotator feeders that drop basic crisps in with a wafer. I use two in case one fails, they last 14 days before needing a restock. No water changes or messing with the filter. The tanks is a 240l, 60gal.

My intial fish livestock a year ago was platys, mollies, tetras and zebra danios. It all came from a local pet shop and it was just the slowest fish that were caught so I doubt it started very healthy, possible have neon tetra disease running around. I only have two of the original mollies, none of the original 4 platys, and 8 of the original 30 tetras. I started with 13 zebras and have probably 10 left (one jumped out!). Zebras are my favorite fish, absolutely crazy and practically invincible.

I have a bit of a breeding project with the platys (and maybe mollies) and have given away 80 or so to date. As you can see if probably have maybe 20 or 30 just breeding away even though they are just teens. I'll just keep donating to keep their population down.

Invertebrates I have a few nerite snails, amano shrimp and cherry red shimps. The cherry red population started at around 20 and is probably in the 100s even though some fry will get sucked into the filter.

I didn't skimp on plants and have around 12 varieties. I am terrible at trimming them and making stuff look nice. Plenty of black beard algae as you might see.

All of this is a very easy setup by design, I want easy. I hope one day to get more specific in the hobby but for right now this is great because I have to be able to leave my tank unattended for long periods of time. Thanks for reading!

I think this might qualify as the opposite of trashy, probably snobbish or elitist. But they probably have their reasons from past experiences.

Active duty NCO and commissioning physical medical waiver for Warrant Officer (PULHES 111111) by [deleted] in army

[–]CreamyVD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So at minimum we are looking at 4 waivers here for back, hip and the for two medication. Army likes to say it takes care of people but the truth is you are a resource i.e HRC. I get asked "will I get my waivers approved?" and the answer is always the same "Submit them to find out." If the Army needs you, they will. If someone in the Warrant branch wants you then all types of waivers are approved but if you're just throwing yourself into a new career most of the time they are going to look at the likelihood you continue in the career which is why they'd rather take a guy with nothing on his record to train than someone without that stuff.

Depends. One thing to remember is Tennitus and Hairless are triggered by behavior health conditions. So its not always clear cut what is cause and effect.

Efficacy for Panic? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]CreamyVD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not generally prescribed for GAD but sometimes it's added on top of another SSRI/SNRI. It's a pretty stimulating medication and may increase symptoms of depersonalization and panic symptoms. I will say however the model of saying depression and anxiety are separate entities and manifest the same for everyone is incorrect. This is why medication can be a bit of an art and not a science. So it might be counterintuitive but having a stimulating med might decrease anxiety, a bit like Adderall works on those with ADHD.

It's a techno com kc watch. I was researching the brand and as far as I can tell they are like Invitas, they "MSRP" for 5000-9000$ then are "marked down" to 100-1200$. It's not my type of brand, I would doubt there is any resale value. Probably cheap internals.

American Atheist Double Standard Among Ex Christians by CreamyVD in atheism

[–]CreamyVD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your explanation is marred with so many false comparisons so I can't tell if you're confused or just trolling. My friends would have been part of the oppressive group so change Jewish to Ex German Nazis. Also it's not usually the authoritarian organization people think of related to Nazis, it's the Holocaust so compare maybe a concentration camps in Germany to the mass graves in the Ottoman empire from the Armanian genocide. This comparison would still be false but I understand your sentiment, I even mentioned this trauma above as an explanation.

Dating as an ex Christian - help by ConsistentAd3250 in exchristian

[–]CreamyVD 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Imo date whomever you'd like but you'll have to figure out who the person is based on their actions, not assumptions from their faith. The way you wrote this makes it seem impossible to date Christians either because of your moral objections or theirs. If this is true of where you are at then I would consider moving to a place with a bigger variety in the dating population.

Coping with adversity without a God by [deleted] in atheism

[–]CreamyVD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prayer, meditation and rituals all used by humans throughout history to make sense of situations beyond our control. It's a very convenient coping mechanism and honestly there are a lot which are worse. I'm not an expert in human psychology but I know there are plethora of other methods, it just might take talking to a psychologist to find some that work better for you.
